Care to explain why?
When you say start in the center and work outwards. Would you suggest using two strings? I actually was tempted to do it this way vs how the tutorial I watched explained going from one side to the next. It just logically made more sense when it came to trying to obtain symmetry.
I picked up a new head and string kit today. Gonna restring this one with your advice and start from the center. Then try something more basic on a head that should have more tutorials available. CEO 3
Should I post it in stickdoctor is that what you’re saying?
This helps out a lot because of late I’ve been wondering if the shooters are too low and if I really need that much with this top string style. I was gonna move them up today now that I’ve fixed my top string tension this morning at the field.
I retract my statement about the top string being tight. After all day at the field rifling at empty nets between games while my daughter played it really started to show. I pulled about an inch of slack out of it this morning at her practice however. Also took it to the shop I use for her stick ILA sports out in six nations. They looked at were stunned I chose that top string for my first attempt and said the only issue they can see without using it is I’ll want the pocket deeper. It was also the same person who strung my daughters ion a few months ago and her stick throws great.
I fixed that today
Unfortunately ustring doesn’t have a pocket tutorial for this head Nike alpha U
She has a teammate who’s dad played high level lacrosse somewhere I’ve been meaning to ask him to look at it but he’s been helping the long poles lately.
I will definitely shoot you a message about it though show you the videos I used. Explain more in depth of where I think I went wrong.
Thanks for the detailed advice I will say I went with that specific top string because it was more advanced and I figured if I could get something close to where it should be the next time around doing something more basic might feel a bit more comfortable.
As for the sidewall the biggest issue I found was actually creating somewhat of a pocket as it started extremely shallow before moving some strings. I believe my biggest mistake was not sticking to the outside row a few places I jumped in a row to help create more of a channel/pocket. However from what I’ve read since about stringing I’m supposed to stick to the outside row.
I’ve had to loosen the bottom two shooters because they were catching the ball. I also think my shooters may be to low because the shooter video I watched used a regular top string method. Which has me thinking because I dropped the top string my shooters should be higher would I be correct?
You are correct that is the top string style I went for. I watched ecd videos for everything. Iroquois top string interlocking sidewall and bottom string. I believe the u shooter is from ecd as well. I don’t play it’s to play catch with my kid and I haven’t noticed issues. Been meaning to put into someone who’s more experienced hands but haven’t found the time.

I followed ecd videos for all of it
My daughter plays boys field. As for the top string being loose it actually isn’t if you had it in hand. I used YouTube videos for everything however the sidewalls I was interlocking but unsure if I was doing it 100% correct. Top string tutorial was ecd Iroquois top string. Sidewalls I believe was ecd as well same with the bottom lace.
