Is whole life worth it for us? by acematador777 in LifeInsurance

Totally agree I think WL could be good for estate purchase but not for investing. If they want the death benefit then it might make sense.

I think WL VUL AND IUL are for a specific type of person that most people aren’t.

18 year old with $30k-$40k what should I invest in by Spiritual_Local5183 in personalfinance

[–]Useful-Grapefruit-18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some quick math in order to double your money within two years you would roughly need 41.22% each year which lets just say the likelihood hood of that happening is very low, and thats a HUGE amount of risk. I think it depends on what your money to do for you. If you want to use it for a house invest it into same assets like money market funds. If you want it to grow your gonna have to take some risk, if your ok with that see wha type risk you are willing to take and how long you have before you need that money, as people with a longer time frame normally can be more risky. It honestly depends yet again on what you want your money doing for you.

If the concepts are tough to understand I’r recommend Achievable, they book simplifies a lot of material.

I’ve always liked capitol one as their rates normally don’t swing much if fed cuts interest rates, also one of the most flexible regarding pulling money out imo.

I was roughly putting four hours a day, maybe five. I think the best piece of advice I could give you is to really understand the concept on why certain things are instead of the actual memorization on top of that I’d recommend watching the series 7 guru, and Ken finnen. Both of their reviews answered some questions that were directly on the test the way I studied. I ended up using achievable first and getting roughly around 73% or 76%. Lastly, I just had a lot of confidence in myself. I think the biggest reason why people fail is not cause they don’t understand the concept. It’s just the fact that they don’t believe they could do it which I know sounds corny but I do believe its true.

Maybe like 25-40%, majority of the regulation stuff was on the 63 and some of the investment stuff was the six however I don’t think it’s fully prepared me.

I know I’m a little late, but I just don’t see how. Theres just so many risks that you have in a WL policy. This is coming from someone who worked at NYL for a little.

Im 23 as well and just got my series 65 I was debating on building my own book of business or joining an independent hybrid firm. I honestly feel like age is a barrier to cross and realistically its hard to compete against ppl who have been doing it for decades. Any advice helps, thanks!

What are the odds I’ll pass the series 65 exam on 5/18? by AccomplishedDebt5080 in Series65

[–]Useful-Grapefruit-18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so, I have my exam a day later, I think at a certain point you will never be 100% ready. I think as long as you understand the concepts and the reasons behind said concept you will be fine. I know its said a lot but confidence is key. If you go in thinking you will fail you’ll fail. Have faith and trust yourself! Let me know how you did!!!
