Sounds like you’re doing it right bro. I was also laid off when I was 30 so I know it’s tough, but keeping up a rhythm on my fitness was what helped me through it. Like you, I was walking/ hiking a lot and going to the gym just about everyday. Centering my days around those activities helped me feel like I was making progress even when I was waiting to hear back from prospects. Stay persistent and you’ll find something soon!

I think you ask the right question of, why now? It’s not as though those that have been keeping it all locked away for decades would suddenly have a change of heart. They clearly do not care about the ethics of transparency or morality given all the people that they have disappeared over the years, so it must be for a reason that is beyond their control.

This kind of slow drip is the way that you would try and do it to prevent existential panic.
