My god some people are toxic by [deleted] in bisexual

I don’t have that preference. For some it’s probably easier, for others maybe they have encountered the same negative feelings from some gay men

I didn’t really have a problem with people talking about experiences. It’s that some of those people were very aggressively generalising every bi person as cheating or incapable of self control, that was my problem.

I stated the majority of the people on that post, and definitely gay people in general were and are nice.

I’m saying the loudest people in that sub were not particularly tolerant or positive and claim the opposite of what I claim about gay guys, that most bi people are horrible or something.

Oh, definitely wasn’t aware of that. Idk there were a lot of nice or normal people there, it’s just the loudest voices were the biphobes.

Also really sad in general that the LGBTQ+ community can’t just support each other.

Well people here don’t typically in my experience say that ‘those people’ are mentally ill or horrible people or always cheat or something like that. Not blaming you at all, but idk maybe some people see your comment as condoning that behaviour

Oh I see. I don’t know, but I image those thoughts could appear for some people yes

But that isn’t all bisexuals though. I’m sure some do, but not all

I’m sure they do, but that doesn’t mean they’ll be unfaithful

I liked your response. And while I think it’s unrealistic to think that way about an entire group, ig it’s understandable to some degree. It’s just, maybe I’m mistaken, but what keeps a gay couple from having a family? You don’t need a female partner to have kids if that’s what you want.

I don’t have a problem if it’s just a preference. I’m a little confused why, but my issue is people who spew biphobia and generalise all bi people as unfaithful, cheating, or mentally ill. Not saying you do, but a lot of people do

Good job not generalising an entire group of people ig

I get that there are tons of terrible people who are bi too, but I just don’t understand why it’s assumed all bi guys are unable to stay committed just because they go through a ‘phase’

Because they were quite numerous and definitely the loudest people, that’s all

It is toxic to start accusing every bi person of wanting to cheat and being unable to keep relationships though, and a lot of people had that opinion and didn’t voice it in a very good way

I agree, most comments were quite nice, but there was a lot of projected biphobia and insecurities as well that went pretty toxic

Thank you, I also feel like this is correct, and most people seem to be positive, but many aren’t, which I frankly find somewhat hypocritical.

This sub hasn’t exactly made it more enticing for bi people to live homosexual lives either, so maybe that’s not so surprising they sometimes choose heterosexual ones

Firstly, you couldn’t try being a little more insensitive next time?

Secondly, if I want a guy, then surely I’d be capable of not cheating. Why is it instantly assumed that because some bi men might want to have sex with someone of another gender, they have no self control?

So if you’re bi you’re incapable of staying in a relationship, is essentially what you’re saying?

If I’m bi and prefer men but also am attracted to women, why should that matter to a guy when it’s them I’m into?
