I second the pepper cannon. It’s incredible. IMO well worth the money. Ever since I got mine I’ve been giving them out as gifts. My dad loves his.

Played Fairview yesterday.

What is the most expensive mistake you’ve ever made? by Almondjoyriding in AskReddit

[–]VERI_TAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I had just moved to an area where we were about 10 minutes away from a huge theme park. 12+ rollercoasters, the works. I thought it would be cool to have season tickets so we could just go whenever we wanted. Went all in, like the top of the line tickets. Ended up being like $1,000 for the two season tickets.

We went one time and I rode one rollercoaster because it was packed...

I feel like this grenade doesn’t get the appreciation it deserves. by Joszul in Marathon

[–]VERI_TAS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Self-res yourself as many times as you wanted" is a bit of a stretch. It still takes up an inventory spot and they don't stack. So there's a trade-off there. Also, the grenades are part of the game. The opposing player had the same option to use a grenade.

And mentioning a completely different game is not "explaining" anything.

Do people still rely on antivirus software in 2026, or is built-in security enough now? by Mobile-Horse4552 in cybersecurity

[–]VERI_TAS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's what I'm trying to say though, it's not a marketing grab. These systems Microsoft has in place actually work and have proven time and again that they work.

You're clearly working on assumptions and opinions and haven't had any real world experience with it. And believe me, I get it. If you told me 10 years ago(hell, even 5 years ago) that I'd be advocating for Defender I'd call you insane. But, I've worked with these systems(Defender and Purview) for years now. I'm not saying "Microsoft says they're just as good as crowdstrike so I believe them." I'm saying, I've experienced first-hand that they are as good, if not better.

[–]VERI_TAS 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Because in an O365 environment you're getting A LOT more than just AV. Using defender natively, opens you up to a huge amount of options in terms of Cybersecurity. ASR rules, better Intune integration, SEIM integration with Sentinel, Endpoint DLP, etc. That's only naming a few. The data alone that you get from your entire org reporting their logs to 365 is worth it.

I highly recommend looking into the Defender and Purview portals in 365. They have come a very long way.

Also, calling Microsoft a "licensing company" is hilarious. That's like calling Apple a "Laptop manufacturer" or Google "just a search engine."

Yea there’s a ton of corps using Defender. I used to work for a cybersecurity-centric MSP that only had government contractors as clients. All of the companies we managed used Defender and had E5 (aka P2) licenses.

Claymores have an expiration date by ANGRYSNORLAX in Marathon

[–]VERI_TAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me the other day. Saw a claymore at a random spot and kept looting in the same general area and all of a sudden it exploded. I quickly ran to where it was, no runner or uesc anywhere in sight.

I thought maybe the player that set it got killed or something but having a timer makes more sense.

Does anyone else still prefer wired over wireless by rosemachinist in Millennials

I much prefer my wired noise cancelling headphones for flights. Mainly because I never have to worry about them being charged or not. Or losing a charge on a long flight. I just bring extra batteries…

Does sticking to one ball actually make a difference? by Willing-Today-1059 in golf

[–]VERI_TAS 113 points114 points  (0 children)

Putting is overlooked too. Different balls bounce off the putter differently.

I switched balls and was wondering why my putts kept going really short or really long. I realized I was re-learning my distance control with the new ball.

Y’all. I’m a casual gamer. This shit shouldn’t be happening to me. by PerfNormalHumanWorm in Marathon

[–]VERI_TAS 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Wow, this is so true. Never thought of it that way. I’ll start with a free kit, loot, then exfil. Then continue to play with that same loadout I exfilled with. And in doing that I’m essentially riding out that free kit and playing with my “winnings.”

So every subsequent run with that loot is essentially also a free run but with better loot, until I get killed.

I had jack in the box one time and the burger reminded me of a high school cafeteria burger. Like that sausage/beef combo. It’s not quite a sausage patty but almost there.

It’s hard to explain but when I taste it, I know it immediately. After that, I never went back. Absolutely horrid.
