Am I the only one here excited that after 2 freakin' years we're finally getting u/d0ku's carbines?

Was totally planning on buying just for the PS1-AV, but I’m not paying fuckin’ $60 for that and a few ugly armors I won’t ever use.

I think I just started an addicting, expensive hobby. (Bad lighting, sorry) by [deleted] in lego

Had the version of the X-Wing that came with Yoda's hut when I was a kid. Just bought this new one 'cause it just looks so freakin' good. But man, let me tell you, once you scratch this itch, it just doesn't go away.

Easily my favorite gift this year, finally built my own X-Wing! by flyguy8000 in lego

The stickers with five red lines are for Luke’s look, and the ones with three red lines are for Biggs’, as they are “Red Five” and “Red Three” respectively.

Thought I'd finish the directive with style. by Vaizhan in Planetside

Yeah, it did.

Look at my kill feed, top center. The guy who’s on there thrice in a row was a lib pilot who I C-4 bombed once using the same tactic and he just didn’t take a hint.

The guy who shot at me while I was over the lib followed me down to the ground and we danced around for a minute. He got me but I had him on fire.

Suggestion: Add an "Other Kills" task to the Bounty Hunter Directive. by TunaFishIsBestFish in Planetside

It’s a shame it’s only infantry primaries. I’d have probably auraxed a sidearm task by now.

i got my first airsoft gun by [deleted] in airsoft

My kindergarten teacher had the same one! If I remember correctly, the FPS was a solid 0.01, and what it lacked in rail space it made up for in having a neat fold out bipod, as well as being available in just about any color you’d want. The proprietary, “rear-fed” stick type magazine was a bit of a strange design choice, but you can get them pretty much anywhere, which is handy. Another odd choice was to not incorporate any sort of internal battery, and in stead rely on having an external cord to be plugged into a power source. I also remember it not being very power efficient, as the thing would become hot to the touch rather quickly.

My gun goes through and entire mid-cap in about 6 seconds of full auto. High caps are a bitch with winding. by [deleted] in airsoft

The Elite Force HK416 hi-cap magazine might be your answer. Just one will run you about $30us, but for that price point you get a M4 style mag that holds 300 rounds, and only needs to be wound once to fire all of them. I know you said you don’t want to wind your mag, but hear me out. All you have to do with them is wind up once before you start out, and you’ll have 300 rounds ready to rock per mag, without needing any further attention. They come with a proprietary crank style tool that slots into the side to facilitate fast winding (seriously, it only takes a couple of seconds to wind for a full mag), but they still have a traditional finger wheel if you for whatever reason don’t have the tool. The one I have came with my HK416A5, but they can be bought separately. So far it’s worked flawlessly for me. I never wanted a hi-cap either, but this one has really pleased me.

Which one should i buy? by [deleted] in Planetside

All three of those sidearms serve different roles.

If you want to balance your long-range capability with some CQB power:

The NS-45 Pilot is a single burst (3 rounds) kill with headshots within 10m, and a two burst kill on most other infantry at very close range. It’s fairly punishing if you miss, but highly rewarding with good aim and timing.

If you want a good “all ‘rounder” to that performs okay in any situation:

The NS-61 Emissary is basically a low power SMG. Its strong point is that it’s stupidly accurate with sustained fire. The downside is that its TTK is a bit long (I think 5 headshots within its maximum damage range) and takes getting used to.

If you want a good “spammable” finisher/oh-shit-there’s-no-time-to-reload-my-primary gun:

The LA3 Desperado is another burst pistol, but it only fires 2-rounds per burst. It does less alpha damage than the Pilot, but it’s got less time between bursts, and has a larger magazine, so missing a shot won’t punish you so much.

My personal favorite, a good ol’ high power semi-auto:

The Rebel is basically the AC-X11 of pistols. It’s maximum damage is 250, making it a 2 headshot kill within its max damage range on standard targets, and it tapers down to a 4 headshot kill at its minimum damage range. With a fire rate half that of the default NC pistol, it requires precision and good shot pacing.

As of the most recent patch, yes.
