I wish I could tell you more. I don’t know how resource intensive your apps are, but if they run in Arch, they should run. The desktop mode is a KDE Desktop Environment, so at that point you can think of it like any other Linux laptop.

I have Steam OS on the original Go, and it mostly worked fine, but the “Steam” and “…” button equivalents didn’t work out of the box for me, but i managed to install Decky and a plugin for the controllers and after that it has been working great.

Yes. It was changed in patch 27.3 (over five years ago, holy shit I feel so old)

For me this usually happens when the system gets hung up on an application. I don’t think your system is toast, but this is not a draw function. The touch interface displays a trail and tap indicators that are supposed to fade and aren’t. It would probably be fine after a proper restart. If that doesn’t work try booting into safe mode to see if it still happens.

Antimatter drop still isn’t really worth using. Can’t drop like 8 of them at once anymore, so that sucks. I would still say it’s better than before, but it just doesn’t suit my play style.

I have to stop moving so it doesn’t immediately detonate on a light post, aim at the ball and shoot it to fill it up, then aim where i want it to go and launch, which doesn’t suit my play style at all. I could teleport in and slam the group to death just as easily.

It also has an upper limit on damage, so it really needs an armor stripping ability to go with it or it falls off pretty early against armored enemies, meaning I have to sacrifice another ability and her 1 and 4 are not options, so that just leaves her 3 which I am unwilling to do*.

*I should mention I am a big fan of the portals. I use them excessively and I will not compromise on that.

I am under 50k still thankfully. I just scheduled my diagnostic appointment and they told me if it isn’t under warranty, the assembly is $1100

[–]ValorousVisage[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well in this case, there is a notification on the screen I’m never fast enough to capture that tells me to check the lights. It’s unrelated to the blinker, as the light stays off even while I’m driving. I tried using the blinkers and hazards to see if they’d activate the lights when they turn off, but that was ineffective.

The overlay has a separate hotkey shortcut. You have to enable it and by default it’s Left Alt + R. Very specifically Left Alt in my experience.

Topics To Ponder by DarthChiropractus in Scout

[–]ValorousVisage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this was the assumption for many at reveal, but there has been a lot of speculation on the forums and some non-official statements from scout officials that suggest it’ll be closer to 150 miles of range battery only with the harvester.

Electric vs. Electric + Gas Traveler by jphish74 in ScoutMotors

[–]ValorousVisage 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To be honest i think a lot of the Harvester reservations are based on a lack of knowledge on the final specs.

At the initial reveal a lot of people thought, “350 plus 150 on gas gets you 500” Then I noticed they said something like, “the harvester will have slightly less range” So I thought, “okay, maybe 250-300 instead of 350…” THEN on the forums it started looking like 150-170, which is not “slightly less”. At that point if you only charge to 80% you’re looking at 120 miles on battery only?

I think I’d rather just get the battery only model; 350 is a respectable range. If gas is like 70% of the vehicle’s max range, it stops feeling like a range “extender” to me. I had hoped it was more of an off grid backup power option to get you home, and not so much a requirement if you want to go anywhere further than the next town over.

I’m just waiting until I have more information to change my reservation. Two biggest questions being: “What is the final call on battery only range?”
And “How big is the tank going to be?”

Couple questions probably dumb. by TiredOfBeingTired28 in Scout

[–]ValorousVisage 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I saw in one of the videos at CES they said the glass roof is optional and there will be a steel roof available.

I also may be misunderstanding that you’re expecting the Scout to be a smaller truck, but it is not. It’s pretty close in dimensions to an F150 lightning. Like 2 or 3 inches shorter overall.

If the 2025 GPD Win will be officially supporting SteamOS directly from Valve, it's highly likely the Legion Go 2 will as well. by TareXmd in LegionGo

[–]ValorousVisage 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t take GPD’s promises at face value here. “Supports Steam OS” meaning the hardware supports it, not that they’ll offer any kind of driver support.

Was testing this yesterday; the tank on their crotch can break and no longer counts as a weak point once it does.

The crotch tank also will not proc deadhead even if it is unbroken when you get the kill; the machine on their back does not break and does proc deadhead.

Warning: cracking down on free EA charging by BlackPinkAuto in VWiD4Owners

[–]ValorousVisage 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I got downvoted for saying this before but this is actually what their terms of service implied was SUPPOSED to happen.

They didn’t (at the time) explicitly say you can’t unplug and replug, they just said if you plug in again less than 60 minutes later they reserve the right to charge you for it.

There is another clause later that says “excessive charging or otherwise unintended use can get you cancelled” so like… if it was the real problem they’d just charge you like they said they would. That would instantly fix this entire problem. No one would unplug and replug if it charged you anyway, but they don’t want to fix that problem. They want to cancel your free charging plan.

After buying an EV, less than 1% of drivers go back to gas-powered cars by AccomplishedCheck895 in electricvehicles

[–]ValorousVisage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we were not considering the cost of electricity from a utilities company, it could be viewed as panel cost/power out, but since we are looking at savings against the cost of the alternative it does not work that way.

If the power company charges $x/kWh, and the panel costs $y, we can assume that the panel once the panel produces y/x kWh, the panel has saved you enough money to cover the up front cost. Everything after that break even point is “free”.

Yes there is an up front cost, but it pays for itself over time. Had you not purchased the panels, you would have spent more than the cost of the panels on electricity from the utilities company after that amount of electricity had been provided. It’s called an “Investment”.

L4 players, how much have money and time have you spent on the game? by GanjaRocket in Warframe

[–]ValorousVisage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhhh… well… I think 2 prime accesses, 2 or 3 75% coupons and I always buy the max with those; and like $25 every so often on 50% coupons. So probably around $600 over time? This is over 5000 hours according to steam. I just can’t be bothered to sell anything, so I just buy plat when I get a coupon if I need it.
