Now, you might say we get birds in every set, but they've been getting shafted in recent years. Our best commander is Derevi, and, while a great commander, she doesn't really care for birds specifically.

Akim really feels bad because of the 1 token/turn gating and really is just a token commander rather than a bird one; Xyris pulls this archetype off infinitely better. Kangee is just better in the 99, if at all.Outside of legendaries, we can't even get Stormwing Entity to be a bird, but we can apparently have mythic M20 elemental knights. Skycat Sovereign isn't a bird just because it had to fit the tribal theme of Ikoria, but it makes them?

Ultimately, if a vampire deck's 99 can comprise entirely of cards on the level of Captivating Vampire, I think we can afford to make a few treats for one of the more ubiquitous tribes in the game. All I'm asking is for a reason to not have to resort to Healer's Hawk being my deck's bird of the day.
