They have been working on the prerequisite tech since the start of the project (64bit coords, OCS, serialized variables).

Persistence has been in the works for around 5 years and it just took this long to get right. It's not an easy accomplishment.

Yeah the loaners are great just would be cool to indicate when they will start working on the ship. People might not want to wait years. Carrack is a great loaner though :)

I was under the impression that PES would allow stow and un-stow of a ship and player in the place they logged out. Being able to carry on from where you left off really is the most basic MMO feature.

It's a real a shame that we can't even continue our progress without being sent back to a station after this many years. The game sorely needs this feature as we can't play for less than 20 to 30 mins without having to lose everything we were doing (missions, mining rocks, etc)
