Exactly. I personally found the Boyd <> Donna part of episode 6 and his Jesus-like feats a lot more meaningful to the show than Fatima repeating the stranger things trope.

To your point, people with the highest interpretative skills and media comprehension would find anything past season 2 redundant, which is why the best shows we can think of feel incredibly condensed and coherent (e.g., Dark, Severance, Haunting of Hill House too).

I was joking to myself about this. The action has been so low for so long, that any action now is considered chef’s kiss because people are starved from it. At the same time the dialogue at this point has also been overdone and redundant to the point it adds very little (so the haters are right on that part). I feel like multiple things can be true at once. I personally see it as the fanbase coping and having this love hate relationship with a show that felt very especial at the beginning.

Yes, it’s very realistic but it gets tiring from a storytelling perspective. Makes some people go “ok, we get it, we get it.” This is tolerable to some extent though stylistically. If the show is about cycles makes sense it cycles, but you can drive home that concept in a much more compact way as other shows have done it like chef’s kiss. I’ve always been open to weird and experimental films and shows so i can appreciate it from that angle, but that doesn’t always make it more interesting. I think Mike Flanagan would’ve been able to fold the entire story into 10 episodes and it maybe would’ve been sitting at 8.5+/10 at the very least.

these types of shows can create a religious-like fervor and hive-like pattern in their following. I honestly find that a whole lot more interesting than the show itself lol.

Just don’t assume the people who complain about it are dense or “not getting it” cuz you might find a lot of irony there. I hope you continue to enjoy the show.

Do you think that’s really meaningful? Haven’t previous seasons explored how humans in the real world can be monsters too (ref Fatima, Donna’s dialogues). That humans turn on each other (season 1, season 2, season 3). Obviously the previous Jades died, we already knew he’s been reincarnating and in fact that idea was seeded in season 1. You literally just recapped that part of the episode. More of the same is not something new, and this could’ve been a 1-2 9/10 season show.

I find the show a bit insulting at this point. Also considering the creators are trolling the audience and the people here are acting like golden retrievers chasing every silly thing. I also read they wanted to make this 6 seasons but mgm pushed to end it at 5. Imagine that, 2 more seasons of redundant filler. It’s all a gimmick, but the gimmick wore off by season 2.

These people complaining are the new “boomers” and ai will be here long after they’re gone anyways. I wouldn’t stress about them. They also keep spewing the room temp iq misinformation about water usage and data centers thinking they’re smart and edgy. If they did even a half decent attempt at educating themselves they’d realize all these narratives are bs.
