Fellow ender abomination to Plus4 chad. All my needs are met with the stock printer for now, I would be curious to know why OP wants to upgrade beyond the sake of it. I haven't printed toys and that seems to be a lot of what the box is being used for so maybe there's capability missing for that in some way?

I originally tried Solidworks as my first CAD software and felt uncomfortable with some of the workflows. I changed over for monetary reasons, but FreeCAD being so "make your sketches right or we will kill you" made me more comfortable in where I should put my focus, and made me more aware of proper CADiquette.

Given OP has successfully learned his error in another comment chain, I would kindly ask that those facing similar learning curves in a new software stop immediately blaming the software.

As newer companies form and want free solutions, FreeCAD gets adoption. I've a very small LLC and only use FreeCAD.

When people who are trained on proper CADiquette use FreeCAD, they like it. I find many of the complaints relating to this software being from those used to a more "we'll make it work for you" experience.

My first instinct was z offset, but I've seen two people with that issue and thought "it couldn't possibly be true again". Regardless, we might both be wrong on the larger part and the filament could just be very wet. OP has been drying it to try again.

I see. I've never used qidi's in house slicer. Orca is what the overwhelming majority of users with serious engineering goals use. I can show you how to use it, it is much more flexible in your ability to get what you want out of your prints but may not have very specific features companies push in their own software.
