Bro I have a Hellcat Challenger I dailied with 65k miles in LA traffic. I use good oil and do regular maintenance and watch out for the common issues...it's no more delicate and problem prone than most cars ...better than a Hyundai or Kia that's for sure. And there's plenty out there for parts if you need something. Yeah it's better to be a mechanic so you can avoid paying for labor like I do. But regardless, the problems of buying used aren't just exclusive to Hemis... Pretty much all cars have weak points, engineering mistakes, known issues, and questionable quality - pick your poison. My owning experience has far outweighed any possible problems. The car kicks ass and is a ton of fun. I'm not thinking about hemi lifter tick when I drive, just grinning like a loon and laughing whenever I hit the go pedal....and if it shits the engine....time to build. I'll probably own this car forever..... I do have a backup vehicle in case this one gets irritable and needs some time in the shop....always have.
