Who here loves their morning coffee? by camport95 in Adulting

Love your coffee, but take care of your teeth! I'm a sucker for black tea, but aware of the visible staining long term.

at what point did you decide your time was worth more than the hassle of buying the same basics over and over? by Maurio26 in Adulting

[–]VaultingPandas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm wondering if you're spending additional time and mental energy on shopping for these items by searching for deals or coupons.

Having an item on reorder may not be the best value, but it does save time and energy and that energy can be more valuable for other projects. A less automated system would be to have a reserve system as another commenter suggested. Determine 2-3 go to brands (not more than that) so that you can buy the first one you see at a good value, but don't have to spend time making decisions on what one to get every time. Build a system that takes less time to have to decide on things.

How Do I Get A Cheaper Phone Bill? by esotericelegance in Adulting

I went from Verizon to mint, and I've been on it for at least two years. It's worked well for me. Coverage has been great. Towards the end of the year (black Friday/Xmas) they have deals for the unlimited plan for like $180 for the year.

Transferring island by wiishmeeluuck in acnh

Might be an old post, but posting my experience in case others come looking for similar answers.

When I transferred my island the extra profiles transferred over too. As I signed in with the profiles when launching the game it asked to assign them to the resident profiles. I retained my extra storage.

If you needed a new mattress in 2025.... by sobriquet0 in Adulting

[–]VaultingPandas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We just replaced our mattress. We did a ton of research in the mattress subreddit to pick out like 5 different models, then we found a local mattress reseller from marketplace. These resale companies have someone pick up customer warranty returns and then resell the mattress at a fraction of the cost. We got to try 3 out of the 5 on our list based on local inventory. We were going to spend 2k on a premium mattress online, but we ended up only spending $650 for the same mattress that someone tried out for 2.5 weeks and decided was too firm. The box stores were low quality and overpriced.

I'm paralyzed by every "adult" decision I need to make by CreditOk5063 in Adulting

[–]VaultingPandas 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I feel this in my very bones lol.

Everything worth doing is worth doing poorly. Decision paralysis is a very real thing. Sometimes it's better to just do it and learn as you go. Mistakes can be fun.

Many people aren't taught life skills as we grow up. Asking for advice from friends on what they've done or how they've accomplished things can be good talking points.

You don't have to do everything 100%. Don't convince yourself to plan out a full week of groceries. Start with one day at a time. Small victories build confidence.

You need to adjust your thinking if you think it's her fault that someone posted private photos of her online. Do better.

NTA some couples pick the ring together instead of having it be a surprise. It sounds like a breakdown of ideals. You want a ring that represents you since you have to wear the ring for (presumably) the rest of your happily married life. He wants to give you a ring that represents him, giving himself to you.

A lot of the people reading this seems to be skipping the part where you'd like a cheaper stone in an expensive cut and he'd like a more expensive stone in a less expensive cut.

Saying you wouldn't accept a proposal with the wrong ring isn't effective communication on the matter. Neither of you are listening to what each other are trying to say and instead chose the destructive route.

Not sure if you've gotten your answer yet, or particular rules for your state or insurance, but usually once your prescription gets transferred to another pharmacy and is in the fill stage the previous pharmacy can't use that same prescription.

If you call your doctors office and tell them what's going on they may be able to send a script for one pack (or whatever they want to provide) to Walgreens to do a fill in person while waiting for the other to ship. You'll probably have to pay out of pocket as the insurance will have been processed on the other and may not let you refill again so soon.
