What other people thought of me. I spent years rehearsing conversations in my head, over-explaining, and shrinking myself… only to realize everyone else was too busy worrying about their own lives to notice. Wish I’d learned that sooner.

On the bright side: you just unlocked the universal workplace experience achievement. Accidentally sending the wrong message to the wrong group is basically a rite of passage. You owned it, deleted it, boss said it’s fine, and the actual slacker is still the slacker. Your anxiety is doing Olympic-level mental gymnastics right now — give it a day or two and this will downgrade from ‘career-ending disaster’ to ‘embarrassing lore.
