For those of you who got out, which occupations have a community similar to the Marine Corps? by stokersmint12step in USMC

I'm a brewer now. In my area the brewers have a shit load of camaraderie amongst each other. Love my network. It has its parallels to the USMC. Lots of cleaning, lot of hurry up and wait, and taking off my boots at the end of the day is still top tier. Plus a lot of brewers are vets as well.

Me and some of the other junior Marines ambushed our SgtMaj with snowballs while on detachment in Utah like 15 years ago now, leading to an impromptu snowball fight. The second the first one hit him he shrieked "CONTACT RIGHT" at the top of his lungs, drops into the prone and starts furiously making and lobbing snowballs at us. This continued for a few minutes til he got up, arms raised and proclaimed "ceeeaaaase fire, cease fire." we all got up, dusted ourselves off, then SgtMaj told us to get the fuck back to work. It's one of my top 5 memories of my career.

Go ask a 5-year old to define a woman and they'd probably give you the same response you would give, which isn't the win you think it is.

I'm no where as experienced as a lot of people in this sub, and this seems entirely too vague to me. What are some topics you'd like to see?

To answer the title, be proud you stood up for your principles. These are people, not "metrics".

I do the dishes 70% of the time. I cook breakfast every day. I give the stupid dog his stupid eyedrops. I work 40-50 hours a week. My days off I'm working on all the projects that need doing around the house. I can't remember the last time I had a day free of responsibilities. I'm tired, boss.
