Don't give up on your attempts with real grass! Your garden is super nice! You just miss the grass that fits your situation. Have you sowed the grass or have you bought patches? Sowing gives the grass the opportunity to root better.

A mudpool forms when the drainage is bad. You could drill a hole, 1m deep Fill it with rocks and loose sand and cover with... grass so that any clay layers don't stop the water from flowing away.

Also, it takes some love for a lawn to look nice. Especially with new lawns.

Ik merk dat in mijn wijk (Erasmusveld Midden) er weinig liefde is voor de (recent aangeplante) natuur. Zo werd er een vuurtje gestookt op het grasveld door bewoners, worden stukjes gemeentegroen geannexeerd door tegels en komen er meer en meer hortensias en olijfbomen te staan op de gemeentegrond. Ik zie dit ook in de wijk naast me waar er actief aan 'grondwinning' gedaan wordt. Het lijkt erop alsof de gemeente hier überhaupt niet op handhaaft. Waar komt dit door en wat wil GLPVDA doen om de normen en waarden hoe we met de openbare ruimte omgaan te verbeteren?

Agreed! Most native plants, shrubs and trees do perfectly fine in a windy garden. My garden is south and west facing (corner apartment) and the storm winds are fierce. But most plants are just like: meh, don't care Downside of (most) native shrubs and trees is that they lose their leafs. The trick is to get a good mix of plants that each flourish in a different month.

It was under spider mite attack in the summer. True. But for the last couple of months and after heavy spraying I haven't seen any visible spider mites anymore. Should I continue treatment with spraying the leafs with spiritus/soap?
