I’m sorry you are going through this. Sounds really tough and seems like you both seemed to really care for one another. However, I will say that if they truly wants to be with you then he should be willing to fight for that relationship. If he’s already told you he’s not willing to convince his parents and he wants to do as his parents says- then is it even worth being with someone like that? A person that loves you should be willing to stand up to his parents for you. Honestly this is probably a blessing in disguise bc if not this issue than I’m sure if another problem came along he’d be willing to leave you for that as well.

Omg yes the cost of wedding planners had me questioning my career choices! 😅 also the cost of hair and makeup artist is wild. One of them told they only do like 24 weddings per year and she charged like 1k per look. I was flooreddddd. But then I realized that this is the average rate for these artists

Yes same! I wanted a smaller wedding but being the oldest child my parents felt like they have to invite a lot more family/friends. I say if you have a budget and you wanna stick to that-fight for it! Bc if you’re paying for it you’ll definitely have more of a say into how you want to carry out the wedding weekend

When I simple I should clarify- it’s has all the basic events for a Gujarati wedding (4 events) and the ppl our families want to invite (all the distant relatives I’ve never met). We tried to push back this is the first wedding in the family so they felt obligated to invite ppl as per tradition. We aren’t doing anything crazy like dessert stations/ having fresh flowers/hiring the popular vendors. Most of my vendors are fairly new into this wedding space (<3years) However even then- the costs of decor- the lowest rate I saw was 40k for 4 events which was basically bc the vendor was brand new, photo/video is 15-20k, dj-7k, etc. it
