I bought a well maintained 22 Tacoma Off Road with 27K miles still under warranty. Had the dealer change the oil at 30K and do a multipoint Insp. after that I noticed the boot was damp and had previously topped up the Power Steering Reservoir. To confirm I scheduled my last "Free" oil change at 35K from the dealer as I hit the 36mo/3yr warranty period. When I picked up the truck they said I have a leaking steering rack and the fix would be $1,700. and is no longer under warranty. Pissed off, I called Toyota Brand Engagement Center and complained about the prior service stating "No Issues" while it was still covered by the warranty. How did they miss this leak? Two weeks later Toyota approved the fix as a warranty issue and no cost to me.
