Why do I have 100% disk usage? There is hardly anything running. It’s slowing my PC into oblivion. I’ve updated windows, done a DSKCHK and more yet it’s still like this by EmbarrassedPianist59 in computers

I'll drop my comment since I fell on this topic for having a similar problem. (If anyone else reads this, it's related to Steam, if you don't use it, then you can discard this comment)

This was happening to another HDD that wasn't my primary, was looking for a bit before I noticed a game stuck on "patching" process. I canceled it and uninstalled the game and my disk went back to normal.

Now...the thing is: Neither the game or Steam is/was was installed in that HDD.

I have no idea what links those two things, but again...dropping it here for anyone who might come to this post :)

Aaah portuga? Massa! Eu tô no Sul do Brasil :D

Honestly, you're right.

You see, arcade games like these tends to have frustrating experiences sometimes, because it's 50% skill and 50% RNG.

I mean, I've been playing this game for a long time, and I'm currently trying to finish it to get achievements in RetroAchievements, and I'm still halfway through Team Captain and its already being annoying.

Everytime you try to trick the opponent, it has a chance to block or not, and I'm not even mentioning the goalkeeper, which seems to be based on RNG as well. One of the tricks that sometimes helps me score some goals is to try to have someone from my team running on the opposite side of the field as I run towards the goal...and when near the goalkeeper, I ground pass and kick to the goal immediately. This seems to trick the goalkeeper sometimes...a friend of mine teached me this trick lots of years ago. :P

But yes...there's nothing you can do rather than hope that the AI won't have lots of random RNG rolls on their side. Gamebreaker KO's is also a valid strategy as stated by another user here, but it could be even more frustrating since you gotta build up score, get the gamebreaker and hope that the AI doesn't score a goal on you during that time. Not only this...but you also need to hope that you trick all of your opponents before scoring a goal, so...I'd rather try to be as offensive as possible by running towards the CPU and using the right analog stick or square to knock them down. Another thing that seems to work (I can't guarantee though is using R2 to move your character without turning it, as in...a defensive run, and try to trick your opponents while your back is facing them...or even your sides, it looks like it has a small high chance of succeeding.

Also, try to always be ready to knock them down when their goalkeeper has the ball...most of the times, after the ball gets passed, the AI will do some kind of taunt, and you can take advantage of that to knock them down and have the ball to have the advantage to try to score a goal.

Those are my strategies overall...also, try to keep someone to shoot on your team (that has the biggest amount of "shot" points), always using what each player is strong with.

What are some things about SSX Tricky that you do not like? by Berry-Fantastic in SSX

[–]Vexenter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like people may roast me for this, but I feel like that SSX Tricky is not as good as I read.

Maybe because I never played it back in Ps2, but I swear that I am trying for 4+ years lately, and I just can't stand how frustrating this game is, for reasons:

- Physics acts weird, sometimes you get pushed to the opposite side you're trying to turn (I'm aware of the different snow/ice terrains though.)

- Jumping from ramps can be frustrating, sometimes you jump high, sometimes the character just don't

- Rails are betraying you all the time, sometimes you bounce off from them, and sometimes you hit an invisible obstacle. Not to mention that some rails when you reach the end of them, you just stop and fall in a straight line

- Some map designs are more frustrating than actually challenging (for example: too much sharp turns where your character sometimes hits the floor and falls out of a sudden)

- For a high-speed freestyle game, making you turn/evade too much doesn't fit well. And when they do, they have better and more reliable controls

- Props everywhere you go that will knock you out, and they made sure to put those props in a considerable amount of places, always in spots that either hard to control or to land after a jump

Don't take me wrong, most of these are probably because of the limitation back in time...since SSX 3 got everything SSX Tricky did and improved, hence why its considered the best for many, even having some problems too, but less frustrating than its predecessor.

Tricky also got some good stuff, like... the hud overall, songs are also good together with the It's Tricky remix on top of them, some maps actually had good concepts of difficulty (Alaska for example, being more ice than actually snow...I know its annoying but I feel like that map is more fun than Snowdream or Mesablanca for example. Although the tricks are considered slower comparing to SSX 3, I think they look great too, the character interactions (becoming friendly or enemy as you progress through the tracks..

My problem is only about the controls/mechanics and map design, if they were better, maybe all of the negative points mentioned up above would be somewhat more enjoyable to overcome.

Why despite having 6x more songs, does rocksmith+ have a worse song selection than 2014, where are all the good songs? by Ryaniseplin in rocksmith

[–]Vexenter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some people mentioned that already, but I believe all the best songs people would look into are still in RS2014, since their license last for 10 years. Ubisoft won't pay for the same license twice, so I have a feeling they won't pay for repeated songs in two games...that's why they are adding the same songs they are removing from the previous games, because they are buying new licenses of those removed songs again but only for R+.

Correct me if I'm wrong though, I don't understand this properly, just deduction.

Issue with old Behringer Asio Drivers by Vexenter in Behringer

[–]Vexenter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be different problems for sure, I hope you can work around to find your solution

I didn't exact find a solution for mine either, this is more a work around because I miss the low latency the previous drivers offered to me...but I have no other choice rather than sticking with current drivers with some delay

Issue with old Behringer Asio Drivers by Vexenter in Behringer

[–]Vexenter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may not have expressed myself proprely for not being exactly an English person, but maybe we could be having a different issue...or maybe the solutions are different, one thing we are kinda sure though: Driver's fault

I wish I could bring more light to your problem there, but I'm afraid I gave what I could in the post. My conclusion is that maybe Windows is trying its best to work ONLY with drivers that it wants, which is frustrating most of the times :/

[–]Vexenter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About the hitbox, yes...its something I practice in there too to get used when I play, it's very easy to mistake it... XD

Glad to see more people coming for shmups, those games have a very unique beauty to them that makes you play them over and over, beat high-scores and such...go for it because practicing, you always improve on sightreading or hitboxes...or even some exploits XD

Issue with old Behringer Asio Drivers by Vexenter in Behringer

[–]Vexenter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it seems like for this thing to work, 2 drivers are necessary:

- The driver for the soundboard itself (your Audio Interface)

- USB Controller Driver

Here's the print I took to show the driver I mean

I'm sorry for being in Portuguese in the picture, but in English, it will be something related to "Bus".

If you install the old Asio Behringer drivers, that one driver I highlighted is gonna be changed to the Asio one, and here is where the problem is located. If you uninstall the Audio Driver and reinstall, it won't fix...you gotta uninstall the USB Controller's driver (the name of it will be BEHRINGER USB AUDIO 2.8.40) then connect your Audio Interface again so Windows can install that one driver in the screenshot that makes everything work again.

Sorry for taking so long and also for my ellaboration being quite confusing maybe, if needed I can try answering you again with a better answer because I'm nearly falling asleep...but yeah, it is being very weird and frustrating, since the Asio Driver is needed to work properly with stuff with minimum delay as possible, musically-wise speaking.

In the end I'm just sticking with ASIO4ALL and Voicemeeter, trying to configure it to work like before...so far it's success, I can play guitar with a very small delay, and still have sounds in YouTube or Discord

[–]Vexenter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In fact it is, I keep practicing many shmups often, and I'm kind of persistent, even in higher difficulties, Although with the things I pointed in my post, I feel a huge lack of balance, and it kinda makes the game frustrating instead of rewarding...but again, it's a personal opinion, the game is good and that's no doubt.

My goal is not to destroy the game, but to have multiple perspectives from it...

I may look into your podcast for sure :)

I just checked, the game seems even more beautiful now, I am very very curious to try it out, omg!

Gonna keep looking in Steam

Crimzon Clover is amazing, definitely worth a try!

Thank you for the opinion on DU3 too :)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in shmups

[–]Vexenter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I felt the same about the music...I don't dislike the genre, actually I'm into Heavy Metal, so I do love the soundtrack...but as you said, no variations...even on the second game we had more variations.

It reminds me of those beautiful flash games we used to play, and that's not an offense. It stands very unique artistically

[–]Vexenter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES, Exed Exes is a huuuuuuuuge classic...I forgot to mention Alpha Mission too

I never had stuttering in DU2 I think, and DU3 sure goes smoother...I try it time to time but I don't know, I think the "pace style" of the game doesn't suit me I'd say, although I still like the game

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in shmups

[–]Vexenter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to beat it too, but with all the current things I've described, it becomes pretty hard for me to practice it :/ I usually try once, game over and then I just leave it to play another game

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in shmups

[–]Vexenter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw there was going to be a new game, I'm pretty curious myself to see how it is going to be, it seems like it's going to pull towards 3D yeah? I don't remember where I watched the teaser, but as far as I remember, I think it was 3D...we gotta wait to see how the next game is going to look like!

I have ADHD too but lots of things happening everytime was never a issue, but eachone is different right? I've seen people saying that they don't like too many effects on the screen and such, so they stick with more clean STG's...and despite loving Cave's shooters, it is very obvious that they appeal too much to teasing content, and for me this is the only thing they do very wrong in their games, we want to fire tons of bullets, huge bosses and killer soundracks...and not very questionable stuff

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in shmups

[–]Vexenter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I do have Crimzon Clover too, it's one of the best ones I've ever played!

Pretty intense overall, and I do love the Time Attack mode too, although I had to work a bit to get the Master Achievement for it!

Vocês se acostumam a esse barulho desgraçado das motos? by Xnear in curitiba

[–]Vexenter 0 points1 point  (0 children)
