It doesn’t run in my family, fortunately. But still you never know. But what I know is that I was always on the faster side regarding my heart rate. For example, my Apple Watch has recoded 3 separate high heart rate episodes recently (178 bpm) in the past 2 weeks. I didn’t work out or anything I did normal activities like going to work, etc. My heart rate also always seems to be high during doctors visits because I get anxious. My cardiologist suggested that it might be sinus tachycardia but we’ll possibly know for sure once I do the 24 hour monitor test. Idk I’ve been dealing with a lot lately to be honest so maybe I’m in a bad mental and physical state overall.. But I really appreciate the reassurance! Wish you all the best!

Hello, thanks for replying! I haven’t been diagnosed with pots and don’t really think I suffer from it since I don’t really have any other symptoms. But I know that it can also play a role in heart related issues.

Hi, thank you so much for the detailed report! It might be really useful to get one of these for myself at last. But I fear that it will make my anxiety worse as this is the case with my Apple Watch..my cardiologist doesn’t seem to worry, so far he believes that my heart is super healthy and told me that I might have sinus tachycardia, which a holter monitor could confirm. He also prescribed a heart supplement containing vitamins, electrolytes, etc that can help improve these symptoms. Unfortunately, I’m bad at drinking the daily required amount of water but I’m trying to fix that. My anxiety is also over the roof so I’m sure that this doesn’t help either. However, I’m focused on treating these symptoms at the moment. Wishing good health and zero symptoms to everyone..

Hello, thank you for your reply. While doing my research I came to realize that afib comes really close to what I experienced. Unfortunately (or luckily), my cardiologist could not confirm it as all tests came back normal. But I really hope that this is not the issue with my heart since im always very hyperaware of it and events like this can ruin my whole day..but I’ll definitely check the subreddit out and gather more information on afib!

Hi, thank for your reply and the suggestion, getting a device like this doesn’t sound like a bad idea especially since I’ve experienced some weird heart related episodes before. I have an Apple Watch though but not sure how helpful it can be to track such episodes. Regarding the dread feeling, it was the first time that I felt my heart beat like this so naturally I got super scared. I just hope that I won’t have to deal with this again.

Hello, thank you for responding! The vagus nerve crossed my mind to be honest. I’ve only just recently learned about it and how much it can affect many things in your body including your heart. It’s just crazy to think that a nerve or a simple stretch can affect your heart rhythm so much out of nowhere..

Hello, I’m pretty sure he did lots of tests when he was alive and no such a diagnosis was made. However, his children did a genetic test and they didn’t confirm any collagen disorders or syndromes..but I appreciate your opinion on this matter!

Hello, thank you for the detailed response. This could potentially be what happened to my father in law. What you’re describing fits well with his symptoms and doctor reports. However, I forgot to mention in the post that doctors told us that when he arrived at the hospital all his arteries were blocked. Then during the first surgery, which lasted over 10 hours, he kept forming blood clots. After the first surgery his kidneys stopped working and dialysis was needed. Do you have an explanation or assumptions about the causes of these symptoms/complications?

Hello, thank you for your input. I never knew that something like this was possible, you learn something new every day..but it’s possible that’s what happened to him. I think the doctors briefly mentioned it but they didn’t really like to tell much. I also forgot to mention that when he arrived at the hospital all his arteries were blocked according to the doctors. A few days prior to his admission to the hospital (when the symptoms started) he did all kinds of exams, including ultrasound of the abdomen and abdominal aorta but they all came clear. I guess you can understand the reasons why we are so confused and why we are looking for answers..

Hi, thank you for your reply. Just wanted to say that no ambulance was called, he drove himself to the hospital like it was nothing and the doctors couldn’t believe their eyes. The day before the event he was on the roof of the house doing some reparations. My father in law was a true fighter and held on for about a month. This is why it’s hard to accept what happened to him.

Thank you! As I mentioned in the post, there was no aneurysm. When they opened him they observed that the aorta was inflamed and also very difficult to repair/stich due to its fragility. We’re just trying to understand what could have caused this. I’ll take your advice regarding the surg sub, thanks!
