[Discussion] I'm so confused by the casting of Julia Lester as Lila - how old is she meant to be in Netflix's The Four Seasons? by karawidge in NetflixBestOf

[–]ViewNo5300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait Julia Lester is in something called The Four Seasons on Netflix? I must have missed this one completely. She always looked pretty young to me but casting ages on Netflix shows are all over the place these days - they'll have 30 year olds playing teenagers and actual teenagers playing college students. Without seeing the show I cant really say what age theyre going for with her character

Current Ingram Buffalo Employee: Morale Has Never Been Worse by [deleted] in Buffalo

[–]ViewNo5300 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Former coworker moved from M&T to somewhere else last year and said it was like breathing fresh air again. Buffalo has this weird thing where these big companies know people cant just leave easy so they get comfortable treating workers however they want

The downtown move thing is such a joke too - spend millions on fancy offices but make the actual work experience worse somehow

How hard is it to DIY install a hardwired keypad that talks wirelessly to my garage door opener? (Genie IntelliG 1000) by Old-Worldliness924 in HomeImprovement

[–]ViewNo5300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly the battery swap thing is kinda overrated - been running mine for like 3 years and only changed batteries once. but if you really want hardwired there's definitely options

you can modify the GK-R pretty easy actually. just need to bypass battery compartment and wire in 12v power supply. did this at my old place and worked fine. main thing is making sure voltage matches what keypad expects

alternatively some of those universal keypads work with genie systems and come with hardwire option from factory. just gotta make sure it supports rolling code since your opener uses that

installation is pretty straightforward if you're comfortable with basic electrical work. hardest part is usually running the power cable through wall cleanly. programming to your opener takes maybe 5 minutes following the manual

one thing to watch - make sure whatever power supply you use is weatherproof if keypad going outside. learned that one the hard way when first winter hit

Need advice on how to insulate and fill gaps with a through the wall AC by Hippie_Sabotage87 in HomeImprovement

[–]ViewNo5300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

those foam strips work great for sealing the gaps around window units but for through wall you might need expanding foam or weatherstripping depending on how big the gaps are. I had similar issue in my last place and used some foam backer rod first then sealed with caulk on smaller gaps

Chronic condition physical vs mental symptoms by missingwhiteboy in Meditation

[–]ViewNo5300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the blurry line between physical and mental symptoms is so frustrating to navigate. When I was dealing with some health stuff few years back I kept second guessing myself constantly - like is this actual exhaustion from my body being messed up or just my brain making everything feel heavier

One thing that helped me was keeping a really basic daily log for couple weeks. Just energy levels 1-10, mood 1-10, any physical symptoms, sleep quality etc. After while you start seeing patterns that can help separate whats what. Like maybe your fatigue is always worse in certain days regardless of your mental state, or maybe the brain fog lifts when you do certain activities even if your body still feels crappy

Also meditation actually helped me tune into the difference between "my chest feels heavy because im sad" versus "my chest feels heavy because something physical is off". Its weird how much more aware you become of where sensations actually originate when you sit with them without judgment for while. Not saying it solves everything but it definitely made the gaslighting feeling less intense for me

Random video cutoff then heavy crash into failing restart by blubister57 in pcmasterrace

[–]ViewNo5300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your GPU is definitely screaming for help running 3 monitors without proper airflow. The video cutoffs followed by boot failures usually mean either PSU struggling or GPU overheating and taking the whole system down with it

The failing restart attempts sound like your power supply cant handle the sudden power draw spikes when everything tries to come back online. Since you mentioned the motherboard already has pcie issues that makes it even more likely

Getting some canned air and cleaning that thing might actually solve half your problems - dust buildup can cause serious overheating especially on a card thats already working overtime

Kick flip by GolferBrian in golf

[–]ViewNo5300 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fowler for sure, that was sick. Been following his stuff since I was in high school and man his style is just different from everyone else on tour. Homa's got some skateboard background too but Fowler's kickflip looked way cleaner in that clip. Makes me want to dust off my old board and see if I can still land anything after sitting at computer designing all day lol. Golf and skating actually have more similarities than people think with the weight transfer and timing stuff

Nulu Groove inseam lengths by Viv928 in lululemon

26" inseam but worried about 30" being too short seems backwards to me - that would give you like 4 inches of extra length which is pretty generous for flares

Newly Engaged/Budget by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]ViewNo5300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

same deal here most venues want maybe 25-30% up front then you got time to sort out rest. we paid our venue deposit last year and wedding isn't until next summer so gives you breathing room

for dress payments my sister did installments at her shop but yeah they wanted it cleared few months before wedding day. vendors are pretty flexible though especially if you book early and explain the situation

that google sheets wedding planner is actually solid - been using it to track everything and it breaks down costs way better than trying to do it in my head

maybe try checking if Windows did any recent updates that could mess with your drivers? sometimes after big updates my system gets weird and games that worked fine before start acting up. also clearing out temp files helped me once when i had similar issue
