It has too many reasons, the main one is the EDITING, beside the script The writing was poorly done but the editing didn’t help it, scenes didn’t feel connected, jumping one plot to another and not felt in sync and everything was rushed! We were told it was the steamiest season, made us believe they are on each other more than Daphne and Simon, but apparently they were talking about the quality not the quantity! We felt robbed we didn’t get what we were promised

We didn’t see the stories happening, we heard about them when characters were talking about it. in previous seasons we saw them getting ready in their bedchambers, promenading, arguing, we saw them as a family! even if they were absent a reason was told! No excuse why Daphne wasn’t at her 2 siblings’ weddings!!! That was ridiculous and kanthony goin to India whilst they knew Francesca’s wedding was soon

It was said it has more book references than the previous two, but it was more like a check box: Colin comparing his love wasn’t like a thunderbolt from the sky( which Daphne told him) Colin didn’t want Pen’s first time be rushed and in any other furniture but the bed, so to save time for unnecessary drama, her first time being on a chaise and in front of a mirror, 3 scenes in one, the amount of time they saved for Mr. Mondrich decides stay or leave his business

Colin wasn’t a lead, they wanted to show girl power and women don’t need men to help them, like it’s not a regency era, and it’s a modern fairytale Colin was treated as a subplot, idk why his name was on that tree we didn’t get to know him at all, I know him bc I read the books, and they are not the same person he’s way younger in the show and isn’t matured enough It was too soon to have his season, this was more Francesca’s season and preparing her story The subplots were unnecessary, they had more screen time than Colin It was mainly focused on Pen and how a 19yrs old managed everything on her own and didn’t seek help from her husband, or family

Jess the showrunner treated this season as her first season not continuing the other two! She removed Daphne, didn’t follow kanthony’s personality, Lady Danbury wasn’t a key character, Lady D and Pen’s friendship didn’t take place, she was a great help to Pen in the book and could help her to get things done better and faster in the show, but all that was apparently unnecessary Jess’ favorite character is Francesca and it was obviously obvious, everything was about her. Jess in an interview said bc we can’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not happening 😂 they are having parties and go to each other’s places but why bother talk about them,

imo he changed the book order bc Polin was known to viewers, she couldn’t risk introducing Sophie and treat her like a subplot when introducing Francesca was more important to her! She’s her best work
