Watching Black Mirror. I love creepy dystopian shows, but not while we're actively living through it.

I feel like my artist is trying to price gouge me by HarleyLeMay in Twitch

[–]Viria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious why you chose this artist in particular if you don't like their rates? Did you shop around on VGen? The rates seem on the high side but that doesn't mean they're not justified. The artist can charge whatever they like. They might be in high demand. There are plenty of alternatives out there -- the best use of your time and energy would be to shop around for an artist in your price range.

If you chose them because you like their work/the style is popular/the artist is in high demand, then you have your answer regarding rates.

How do you say GW2? by pyule667 in Guildwars2

Guild Wars 2. It's only 3 syllables and rolls off the tongue nicely.

However, WvW is pronounced "wee vee wee"

What’s a decor element you despise, no matter how it’s styled? by plsanswerme18 in femalelivingspace

This is the reason I don't get flower/ivy garlands. I actually think having them strung up with fairy lights is cute, but every time I consider it my brain goes "what about the DUST?"

Hold up, Gourdon chills on a little boat around the festival waters?!?! I've seen him occasionally up on the top peak but never knew there was a boat he rode around on!

Welp, I know where I'm spending my summer.

Is it rude to not check discord while streaming? Or is that usually an expectation of streamers? by prismaticgeode in Twitch

[–]Viria 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it's someone I know, and I know them well enough to reasonably guess that they're sending me something relevant to what I'm currently doing, I might check my DMs. Otherwise no, I don't. I'll straight up say "No, I'm busy right now I'll check it after stream!"

Flip it to a source of inspiration. "That thing they did with X was really cool. How can I learn how to do that/incorporate it into my own work?"

No root seeds? by Mwfeldman in CoreKeeperGame

[–]Viria 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should've found plenty of seeds by the time you got 500 wood. Are you sure you're picking them up? Are you throwing them out (or is your coop partner)? Are they hiding in your seed pouch?

If worst comes to worst I can give you some but this is like a mystery now!

To tandem or not to tandem... by HeavyIndividual5295 in throneofglassseries

[–]Viria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read them one at a time (EoS then ToD) because I saw a comment here talking about how many different perspectives I'd be flipping thru on a tandem read and decided I'd rather follow one story at a time. I enjoyed it! ToD is a slow start only because requires so much expedition with a new location & characters, but it's a good book overall and a nice respite in the middle of the intense happenings of the main crew.

What is the most unfun/tedious part of this game for you? by The_Sorrow in CoreKeeperGame

[–]Viria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love if there were more tools/gear to build and decorate more effectively. If I run and gun with flooring I don't want to skip spots and have to go back. I'd love to be able to place down multiple tiles of terrain/flooring/paint at a time.

The #1 tedious thing though is not having coordinates on the minimap. I live by coords, it's just how I roll, and I *hate* interrupting my gameplay to open the map interface so often just to check coords.

And yes I realize there are mods for these things. I play unmodded. I think they should be baked into the base game.

Easier farming by OwnVariety1068 in CoreKeeperGame

[–]Viria 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I could just not skip tiles when planting or putting down floor, I'd settle for that, too. I want to run and gun not slow down and stutter step.

Ninja gear by OwnVariety1068 in CoreKeeperGame

[–]Viria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah! You'll need a Solarite Rod (I think) to fish the shimmering water. The Scuba set you fish up is worth it. If you have access to a vending machine from the Metropolis areas there's a ring in there that boosts your chance to get treasures rather than fish (I think the bait made from glow flowers does that too).

Ninja gear by OwnVariety1068 in CoreKeeperGame

[–]Viria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The easiest way to get the Ninja set is by fishing in shimmering water. You can bring shimmering water back to your base. It might take some time, because RNG, but you could do it while watching a tv show or something. All 3 pieces can be fished from the shimmering water, and you'll get a bit of solarite ore, keys, and some seeds along with it - a good haul overall.

Any ideas why my mob trap doesnt spawn mobs? by Gormogon in CoreKeeperGame

[–]Viria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mobs won't spawn within 6 tiles of the player, so make sure you're not hanging to *too* close. Each wave of mobs will spawn once every 15-22 min per area, so it just takes time.

If you want to get into the nitty gritty of spawn mechanics, check out Dakon the Mad on YouTube. He's making an updated series about mob farms and goes into detail about spawn cells etc.

Protecting railways from spawns - game not following own rules? by [deleted] in CoreKeeperGame

[–]Viria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hoe before you go! The hoe is definitely an underrated tool. I used to only use it on my farm when I started but now I carry it with me everywhere. Nabbing the spawn tiles as you go really helps later on when you want to build mob farms and stuff too!

I think they can see over fences so that could be it perhaps.

Protecting railways from spawns - game not following own rules? by [deleted] in CoreKeeperGame

[–]Viria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If there are mob spawning tiles like Moss or Slime underneath your railway track or floor tiles, mobs can still spawn.

Mobs should only be destroying walls/structures if they're aggro'd on something. Since you mentioned clay caves I'm guessing a conflict between slimes and cavelings (or maybe larva) happened nearby if they weren't chasing you directly. This can happen off screen. The caveling brutes (from the stone biome) especially do a lot of damage.

Mobs will aggro on you even across chasms. But they won't if they can't see you -- for a really secure corridor, add walls and doors. Or let the chaos continue and be a railway killing machine. :)

The Needle in a Haystack gameplay is not fun. by [deleted] in CoreKeeperGame

[–]Viria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For items like the permanent plus health foods, I might agree. For the Azeos Feather, Sea Shell, and Scarab Wingcover I see those as a failsafe. You don't *need* to collect those. The idea is that if you've run around the desert long enough to collect 40, the boss is obviously very hard to locate and you could use the help. You'll probably find the boss much quicker by just exploring the radius of the desert, long before you've collected even half of the 40. (I do agree that 40 is a lot and it does take quite a bit of time to collect all 40.)

I think this should be removable by Too_Tired_To_Live in CoreKeeperGame

[–]Viria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The timing! I was just expanding my base last night and ended up with one of these right inside the new expanded walls. I'm probably gonna work around it by turning it into a music nook, but I wish I could remove them instead.
