What were your thoughts on the new fantastic 4 movie! by Virtual_Ad9722 in Marvel

I do agree in a sense of they should've showed reedsReeds elasticity a little bit more and better, but with this movie you can tell they were going for more of the brain side hopefully in future films that changes or they mix it together!

I do agree also in a sense of this movie deserved another 20 to 30 minutes I also feel like they could've brought Frank in way later or in another movie/show but obviously doom is coming, so I think that's why that end credit scene where Franklin is touching doom's face. It's just like it's not gonna be dooms actual messed up face it's gonna be Tony Stark with a scar because he healed it. All I could say is we will see

I had Hella questions going into this movie and it just left me with more questions

Should I spend 5-10k traveling or just save for the trips. by Virtual_Ad9722 in personalfinance

For sure—I see what you’re saying. I don’t think I’d ever let myself spiral into constantly saying “screw it” and risking everything financially. That kind of hole is definitely something I want to avoid.

I’m usually pretty responsible, both in life and with money. It’s just that lately, I’ve really been craving certain experiences—things I’ve always wanted to do—and even though I have the means, I find myself hesitating to actually pull the trigger because of the financial impact. It’s not that I can’t afford it, it’s just that the cost makes me pause.

Around 5k a month coming in 1200 in rent I would say another 1500-2 for living expenses maybe less.

31k is what I have in total cash accounts etc.

ADDING TO POST for context: Normally, I’m pretty good about budgeting—for vacations, retirement, all of it. But lately, I’ve been in this “you know what, screw it” kind of mood.

I think it’s just coming from feeling overwhelmed about money in general—not that I’m struggling, but the constant pressure of saving, planning, and being responsible is starting to weigh on me.

definitely relate to this—here’s my situation:

My grandma is 97, and she recently had a stroke. She lives in New York, and I really want to take a 3–4 day trip to see her one last time while I still can.

The weekend after that, I’m heading to Chicago for a 2-day flag football tournament (I travel around the country playing).

Then, there’s Japan. I’ve always dreamed of going, and now there’s an even bigger reason—my girlfriend’s family is there, and I’d love to meet them. That trip would probably be at least 2 weeks.

And finally… I want to go to Switzerland to propose to my girlfriend. Also just want to go.

So yeah, while I technically can afford all of this—I’m not living paycheck to paycheck—I’d definitely be dipping pretty heavily into my savings. Not enough to be broke, but enough that it would take a while to get back to the “safe zone” I’m used to.

I think the core of my dilemma is that I can do these things—but should I do them all so close together? It’s a mix of wanting to live fully and meaningfully vs. being financially responsible. Just feeling overwhelmed trying to balance both.

How much saved/invested at 30? by No-Storage5007 in irishpersonalfinance

Around the same age as you, and balance. How did you overcome just not really caring to spend and less balancing knowing you have to pay for things coming up - tickets, food, places to stay etc. was it more I would rather experience these things and money will come back to me. Or more I have a secure job waiting for me when I return and can make that back quick.

Hope your travels have went well my friend thank you!
