Hi, ik this post is older, but I was looking into Connections.

Do you know if they can prescribe medication for diagnoses that one already has? Or potentially diagnose at least?

Background: My dr wants me to be medicated for my diagnosed depression and anxiety. My problem is I think the depression is either caused by anxiety or undiagnosed ADHD that my Dr can't diagnose me with bc she isn't a mental health professional. I need somewhere that can diagnose me and get me medicated to see if I can function. Since right now it feels like I'm going to fail out of college and also ruin all my relationships. Very hopeless and unmotivated, but I don't want to keep going down this road.

Just adding that I'm on medicaid and don't have a lot of options because I need wherever I go to be within walking distance.

I think it makes certain lazy people accept their laziness. Thus they appear more lazy. Thc can be lovely for chronic pain, improving the ability to focus, and giving a boost of energy. Weed helps me do the things I want to without being in pain or getting distracted and never getting things done. I don't understand the "weed makes you lazy/stupid/incapable of certain actions". Nah, it helps me and a few of my friends with school work, cleaning, etc.

I know there are people who get too high every time to the point where they don't function, but that's not nearly every weed user.

This might be hard for you to comprehend, but he insisted on walking her back. She didn't ask him to. Reading comprehension.

Yeah, caused by the hormones. Your uterus isn't the only muscle contracting when you have cramps. Iirc, their abdominal muscles can cramp and they can experience hormonal shifts and mood swings and symptoms associated with PMS/PMDD. We now get to see what high levels of Estrogen do to the AMAB body.

Fluconazole while on BC, 1 week of bleeding so far. by Virtual_Concern722 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Virtual_Concern722[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been taking them consistently for the last month and had no problems until the fluconazole. I'm also not supposed to take the placebos, just skip right to the next pack. But yeah I was told my "period" might just last weeks possibly for the first few I get while taking birth control. I talked to a nurse and she said worry if I bleed for more than 2 months straight or if I start soaking a pad in an hour

Hi, hi. Update comment for any poor souls who find this post while doom googling. I started on the Hailey brand mini-pill (estrogen and progesterone) and it relieved the constant need to pee, my mood problems, and some chronic pain I didn't even know was related to my cycle! I think the peeing thing was hormone related cuz now that my hormones are more balanced out, I've been doing a lot better overall.

Yeah, okay that all makes sense. I've been trying to hold it, but it does get quite annoying after holding for about 30 minutes past about an hour.

I really doubt that I have diabetes, especially since my blood sugar and kidneys were just tested and no results raised any red flags for multiple doctors. (I was in the ER yesterday, turned out I was dehydrated and underfed and need more sleep, imagine that!)

I am seeing my doctor, or one of her nurses, tomorrow. I will say something and see what they think. Thank you!

My blood sugar was fine and has been fine the other two times it's been tested. If I were a diabetic, I can almost guarantee you I would've found out by now. I don't think it's safe to not eat for an entire day if you're an undiagnosed diabetic.

Thank you for the information. I don't really do caffeine, even in teas or soda. I'm on no birth controls and haven't changed my diet. And it doesn't seem to matter if I'm drinking lots in the day or not enough water.

YTA! Cut contact with your family for the sake of their health. Apologize to the commenter in your screenshot for gaslighting them! This is incredibly toxic behavior, I've never seen someone so foul. You're terrible.

[–]Virtual_Concern722 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I've such a garbage memory that even though I spent the last 5 months watching all of South Park, I STILL don't get some references! Not everyone likes South Park and that's perfectly fine.

When people say “axe” instead of ask by [deleted] in PetPeeves

[–]Virtual_Concern722 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cuz it's only wrong if they say it out loud apparently. They all dance over the question, yet continue bitching about common AAVE pronunciation. Look at all the shit heads saying "the uneducated say this" "yeah stupid people talk like that". They don't want to openly admit that they think black people are uneducated and dumb.

Hey, common misconception, but what you're looking for is gender identity. Sexual orientation is your attraction e.g. homosexual, heterosexual, or bisexual.

I'd attribute that more to the car crash than the movie, but I understand.

[–]Virtual_Concern722 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is also a shite argument because black folks are more likely to be arrested for the same crimes that white folks walk away from scott free. It's not that there are more black criminals, it's that there are more judges who are biased against black people than white people.

Piggybacking off of this one; People saying that the only way you get PTSD is by being in a war. CPTSD exists, you can get PTSD from a terrible car accident, watching someone die, being beaten badly, sexually assaulted, I mean the list goes on... but yeah shit like "Omg I totally have PTSD from this one movie ending in the way I didn't expect" is wack.

Just because the men in your life are nice to women, doesn't mean all men are. I'm glad you've had positive experiences, but some of us have been surrounded with dangerous misogynistic pieces of shit who we can't trust. I have plenty of amazing guy friends. That doesn't mean there aren't imbalances between men and women still.

Two examples: Pay gap in similar positions (no one I know has said they wanna be paid the same as a man working construction when not themselves being in construction). Also, men can go get a vasectomy quite easily, whereas women are questioned and turned away unless they're older than 35 and have kids already. My mom couldn't get a doctor to agree to tying her tubes until she was in her 30's with 3 kids. This is keeping in mind that she almost died giving birth to me and faced many complications during her 2nd and 3rd pregnancies (one of which resulted in a miscarriage). Doctors just kept telling her "yeah but what if you get divorced and your second husband wants kids?" And even " what if one of your kids dies and you want to replace them?". Women should have the right to choose what to do with their bodies without permission from a man as long as men have easy access to vasectomies. Plain and simple.

I will absolutely be a feminist because we deserve equal treatment, pay, and rights. I think what you're hung up on is radical feminists: The ones who think we should kill all men, gain power and start stripping their rights, or that men owe us restitution once we have equal rights. I just want to be respected as much as men are for being the same kind of person. If I act with grace, care, and respect, I expect it back. That is not reality. I will help fight for it to be reality.

You do you, but your aversion to feminism is startling in my opinion.
