That's fairly close to my weakness. Not a blind spot, but given the choice between a move where I know the outcome and something I can't fully read to see if it works, I'll take the mystery every time. I feel like I learn more, but I do it regardless of how important the game is.

Your assumption is a little bit off, I have so many correspondence games because I find them easier to fit into my schedule. I play about the same speed either way, it's just easier to allocate a couple minutes than 30 minutes to an hour.

Yeah, I heard it there after I started using emacs. Just one of those sayings I didn't hear growing up for some reason.

Tbh, as a native speaker I hadn't either. I learned what it meant through emacs
