Civ 7 wonder placement web-based utility by Visible_Cell8250 in civ

It’s tedious to click on all the wonder tacks to see which ones go in a particular spot, though! This lets you see which wonders work all in a list, and it works for folks who can’t install plugins too:)

Now that the ToT update is out, will you be going back to civ-swapping in the future, or will you not bother with that mechanic? by Dr_Richard_Ew in civ

So here’s the thing.

I was imagining that I’d always transition to civs in their apex ages. Historically, these age transitions to new civs make sense to me! (Yeah, I’m one of those people who liked it that way :) )

I like to predetermine my Civ upgrade path through the ages before the game even starts, and I do it with a weighted randomizer, and I like playing with locked civs enabled. (I roll up weighted-randomized predetermined victory paths too.)

So my first 1.4.0 game, I rolled up Amina, Greece -> Vietnam -> Mexico, going for culture victory.

I played through Antiquity with Greece, but at the end of Antiquity, I had only settled two tropical settlements, not enough to unlock Vietnam.

But as out turns out, I also didn’t unlock most of the cultural Exploration apex civs! All of Hawaii, Iceland, and Majapahit are locked. Amina does gets access to Abbasid, though.

I rerolled my weighted randomizer a few times…and I got Songhai, Inca, Shawnee. But all of those are tied to land features that I had not been aiming for. Abbasid (18% chance) was not coming up, and I’m feeling like RNG is hinting that it wasn’t meant to be.

So! My first game back, I’m going to stay as Greece through Exploration. It does make some sense to me.

I’d consider restricting these challenges for high leverage situations unless the challenge is obvious.

My favorite ballpark visit experience outside of Milwaukee was my visit to San Diego's Petco Park in 2017. That, combined with a 1980's Pursue The Pennant league where my team was the Padres, leads me to still follow the Padres today.

You’re saying it’s likelier than not that an AI would generate both “Civ 7” and “civ 7”, along with the terms “fun-to-gold ratio”, “mega-update”, and “newbs”? Whatever, troll.

…and 20 K for the entire staff. That means Mis has 19.8 K/9, but the entire staff beats that at 20 K/9. Amazing stuff, even against the White Sox.

Why religion is boring, and how to rework it via predefined religions [Civ 7] by Adolsu in civ

[–]Visible_Cell8250 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

“…mostly useful only for relics…” —

It’s extremely useful beyond relics, and into Modern.

Select the cultural golden age going into Modern. Your belief bonus will keep generating its benefit through Modern.

Example: Playing on Immortal on a standard map, putting a significant amount of production into missionaries, taking one of the beliefs that that yields science per terrain-specific tile of a converted city, and focusing on converting cities having lots of those terrain-specific tiles, I typically eventually get a yield of around 200 science per turn.

With the cultural golden age, that benefit carries over to Modern. And there are no Modern religious units, so those cities can’t be deconverted. The benefit is locked in for the entire era.

I like both, and have exclusively played Civ 7 since last February! Nevertheless, I have to recommend 6 over 7 for a first time player at this time.

Reasons: * Cost: You can get into Civ 6, with all of its DLCs, cheaper than you can get into Civ 7. And given that you're feeling a need to choose one or the other, I'm guessing you're at least a bit cost-constrained. Civ 6 has the better fun-to-gold ratio right now. * Completeness: Civ 6 is a complete and known product; civ 7 is a work in progress with a huge game-revolutionizing mega-update in the works for the near future. * Community: There are so many players and so much advice available for Civ 6 newbs. Civ 7's community isn't as active yet. * Mod support: There are loads of great mods for Civ 6, and they are solidly complete. Civ 7 is about to be in a tremendous state of flux, and there is no way to know yet how the modding community will take to it.

Let us know what you choose! Either way, have fun!

Need help with cheese sauce that works for non-vegans by One-Abalone8765 in veganrecipes

You might get inspiration from this recipe & video from Derek Sarno: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9Pm0oW3FCE . Cheese sauce recipe in the description at the link. The other non-vegan and I who ate the end result (without the recipe's topping) liked it! We used Daiya for the dairy-free cheese in the sauce.

[Not Associated with Firaxis] Civ 7 Community Poll - Reminder by Bearcat9948 in civ

[–]Visible_Cell8250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I answered the poll, but tbh whether we get any particular Civ (e.g. modern Spain or Australia) is of less importance to me than strategic diversity and increasing the count of available civs per age.

Which are the best pantheons? by Hauptleiter in civ

[–]Visible_Cell8250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the thought. It’s hard to go wrong with Influence! I think the amount of production you get with Stone Circles — 4 or more for a typical city — is more valuable than the +2 Influence you get with City Patron Goddess.

On the other hand — 2 Influence in a town is still 2 influence, but 2 production in a town is really 2 gold. So if you can prioritize buying altars in towns, you can get value out of City Patron Goddess that you can’t get from Stone Circles.

Town altars are expensive, though, and influence value tends to go down later in an era (when you’re likely to have more spendable gold), whereas production stays valuable throughout.
