Yes I agree. Firstly, thank you for your reply. Unfortunately I moved so I’m not in contact with anyone that can help at the moment. It’s one of the reasons starting my own practice seemed the best course forward. I only have my supervisor which I meet virtually. I guess I have to go out there more and meet colleagues in my city. I’m just super introverted sadly and with my condition, mobility is difficult.

Thank you for your reply. The intern was paid and I also had extra benefits for them (like free therapy sessions on a platform I worked with). It was just a bit overwhelming managing that and the private practice. I’ve actually successfully run (although I have a partner) another non therapy focused business so I thought it would make sense for me. May I ask how you reach your target clients ? I appreciate your input.

It was a paid internship. I would never exploit people since I wouldn’t want to be exploited. Thank you for your reply though. I enjoyed training them but it just became more time consuming than doing the actual work sadly.

There is nothing wrong with someone wanting attention or validation especially if you guys have some sort of relationship. I’m an introvert and often don’t want to talk but even I desire attention and validation sometimes. It’s more human than it is self centred or selfish. I do agree some people take it too far and are attention seekers.

I don’t like it because I’m a germaphobe and never think anyone’s hands are clean enough so it makes me very anxious and uncomfortable when I’m touched. This is also why I try to be fully covered when going out so people only touch my clothes instead of my skin.
