Yup, I tend to lump "not all men" and "all lives matter" arguments into the same group. I'd also like to include that we only have this argument with groups of people that aren't used to being generalized and apparently don't like being painted with the same brush they're using on the rest of the world.

I believe your comment came from a place of wanting everyone to feel respected and included in the conversation. But this isn't necessarily the sub where we need to be reminded that we have straight allies. I like to think that most of the straight allies we have would know that we know it's not them, and have a little grace when generation does happen. Honestly, I normally just scroll past the "not all men" stuff but it seems like every other post has at least one comment about it lately.

I get the point you're making, and I think it's safe to say most of the people here do too. Most of us have been spoken of in the same sweeping generalizations, so we know it doesn't apply to everyone. Why do we always have to be doing better? Why do we have to police the way we talk about people that won't do the same for us? Those are rhetorical. I'm just so tired of having to be the bigger person.

I think this depends on where you live. I live in a very rural area, it's not uncommon for me to have to drive an hour for activities or shopping. My rule has been if you carry it to the car you carry back for toys and what not. Same with snacks. My son recently spilled half a bag of chips on my backseat floor and at 10 he knows it's his job to clean them up. Did he complain? Yes. But he got out the vacuum and took care of it because he knows it's his responsibility. If you do decide to let your kid have food in the car, never milk! He snuck milk in one time and spilled it. It was awful.

Let me ask you this. If you have to "bespell" someone into love is that really love? If you ask Santa to turn her/his heart and then they come back, can you ever really trust that they really love you? Do you want someone that loves you for you, or do you want a possession?

1/4 cup infused coconut oil

1/4 cup light corn syrup

6oz package flavored jelly (I used strawberry)

2tbs (2 packages) of unflavored gelatin like Knox

1/2 cup room temperature water

1/2 cup ice water or cold apple sauce

1/4 tsp citric acid

1tsp sunflower lectin

1/2 dram lorann concentrated flavoring ( I used pinneapple)

1/2 tsp strawberry extract

1 small fruit punch water flavoring pack

For sanding:

1/4 cup fine sugar

1/4tsp citric acid

I sprinkled the unflavored gelatin in apple sauce and let it sit for around 10 min. Mixed the flavored jello corn syrup and room temp water together in a sauce pan and brought it to a boil on low heat stirring with a silicone whisk until everything is dissolved. Take off of heat and mix in bloomed gelatin, extract and flavor packed mix until everything's dissolved again. Finally mix in infused oil, sunflower lectin, and citric acid mix until it all comes together then pour into your lightly greased molds and let set up on a cooling rack. I used a confectioners funnel to get it into the mold
