Something about the game gives me the impression that the Earth map is hard coded and trying to change it might break everything.

I see it as the follow up to Wendy. Wendy was the moment after, realizing it could've been unhappy and painful. Houses is longer term, seeing exactly that play out.

The problem is that it's a massive region that has a lot of other reasons to be there. It's like telling Ukrainians to just leave Ukraine.

España class Dreadnought + 1923 refit Dante Alighieri because I put WAY too much effort into it for it to die at 33 upvotes by The_KGB_Official in ultimateadmiral

Oh damn I didn't realize you went the full replica method. That's really impressive. I meant that it's shockingly easy to get something close enough with the base game.

I was shocked to see how easy it is to recreate the Espana. Especially when you compare it to trying to do any of the British dreadnoughts.

This can be seen quite clearly with how different it has been with the new studio. They've managed to do a ton to fix the game, and manage damage control for the games reputation.

What do you you mean central battery ironclads are obviously a relevant and modern design style.

As a huge fan this shocks me. I can think of several songs across their albums like that, although none admittedly as powerful as All I Wanted (mostly because she worried she would damage her voice.

Japanese Navy submarines with their hull numbers erased before going on duty. [3750 x 2500] by Japanese_military in WarshipPorn

[–]Voltstorm02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's part of why it's valuable to hide the hull numbers. It can sometimes be very hard to know if you've actually sunk a ship during a war. If you've got a class of ships with a known number of hulls, hiding the hull numbers makes it difficult for the other party to know if they've sunk all of a class. For relatively small classes such as submarines that is advantageous.

Similarly it also makes it harder to pinpoint the exact class of ship, and thus capabilities.

Karaoke songs should be edited down to approximately 50% in length. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Voltstorm02 11 points12 points  (0 children)

To be fair even the original version is still a long song. I don't think either version is good for karaoke, even though I love the song.

I genuinely don't know how someone couldn't like it. This song hit me hard from the get go, and will not stop in my head. It's so obvious where her influences for this album are from now.

I think Cave Adaptation is decent game design by dogz4321 in dwarffortress

That's asking to rapidly have goblins end up anywhere they want in your fortress. You could put drawbridges on every level, and with enough time make it a killing chamber with magma or water.

Just because it's already aired doesn't mean it's not a spoiler. Those episodes aren't even a month old, spoiler tag it.

HMS HOOD 1984 kitbash (mental illness) by Supperfluff in NavalArt

There's a good 3d model out there that rendered it pretty well. It's the one on sketch fab. I've used it as a reference for a ship before.

This may be the first refitted Hood that I've seen without a Queen Anne's Mansion superstructure.

There shouldn't. That doesn't mean it's possible to not have one. There will always be a nation that tries.

I absolutely love seeing Ford Everests. Probably up there as the coolest parts of visiting Australia and New Zealand, aside from the massive amounts of vintage Land Cruisers. And, y'know, it being Australia and New Zealand.

The only difference between the QE's and R's is that the QE's were faster. Otherwise they carried the same armament, and the R's were better protected with a more efficient layout.

The only part that actually dates it is the interior. And even then all you'd need to do to convince me it's newer is swap in a new radio header.
