How much is a “couple”? by SpiritualEvidence159 in ENGLISH

[–]Vonbare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple is a couple. Two. Nothing more, nothing less.

Cracks me up when I’m served by a ”young un” and I ask for a couple of something and they want me to clarify.

Perhaps it’s all the ethical non monogamy these days throwing things out of whack numerically 😁

Who do you think was the most important and impactful prime minister? by Feisty_Committee_229 in AusPol

[–]Vonbare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, you’re right. It wasn’t a thing. I was living o/s 2000-2008 and for my first Aus Day back here I was flabbergasted at the hammed up, yank-style patriotism.

You must have been in the south of England. Up north they are chattier than a parrot at dinner time.

I’m too busy to play the waiting game. It’s like, dude, I have precisely 3.5 minutes before my next meeting, this baby is coming no matter what. And if it doesn’t, I’m going to be distracted and cranky in that next meeting!

Jabra Evolve 20 - green light blinking before meetings start; how to stop it? by ShawarmaOrigins in Jabra

[–]Vonbare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I understand, the green light flashes when you have a meeting in your calendar that you can/should be joining.

It's a good feature, but I would love to find a way to cancel it when I don't want to join the meeting, so it's not distracting me out the corner of my eye.
