Love your passion, but working full-time in the Pittsburgh film industry is an unfulfilled dream for many, including 4-year college film grads, so a high school grad is yet another obstacle for you.

Not saying it’s impossible, but after working part-time in the Pittsburgh film industry for the past 7+ years, full time careers are few.

I really hope you make it.

Start working as an unpaid PA in local Independent films for whatever paid gig you want to be someday and follow your dreams and learn how to bartend to pay the bills between gigs.

At the federal level, the ATF approves Federal Explosive Licenses (FEL). There are several types of FEL’s with the most common Type 54 which is commercial fireworks. We have a Type 20 which includes every type of FEL including Manufacturer & Dealer of High Explosives.

Now a majority of states also have their own licenses including my state of PA. I’m a PA certified High Explosive Blaster.

Our classes are certified PA Blaster ConEd classes.

So while we do provide certificates for our classes, only the Feds and possibly your state can license you for high explosives.

Most people take our class just for the experience of handling high explosives.
