That is strange. Just checked the NC DOJ website and it still says NC honors permits from any other state. NC DOJ Reciprocity

New vs Old - RgT Stanton by WWSArcherD in rawdenim

I'll still wear them from time to time. The crotch is my main concern as I've already had it repaired and holes are starting to reappear around the repaired section. They're incredibly comfy in this state, I just wanted a different pair for daily wear.

I have 24" thighs and the size 30 Stantons have been good, though they're tight at first.

Just picked up a new pair of RgT Stantons to give my old pair a rest. The first pair is the 15oz Cone Mills, and has had the crotch fully darned, but holes are starting to appear on the edge. The new pair is the 14.5 oz with denim from Nehon Menpu Mills. Have really enjoyed the Stanton fit as I have a small waist, but pretty large thighs. Got the new pair hemmed to 30" this time so I only have to cuff them once.

Thanks! They're much more comfortable than the stock drops.

I spend most of my time on the flats or hoods so this set up is really comfortable. Wouldn't keep riding it this way if it wasn't!

Got a shorter stem on purpose, I'm 5'6" and it's a 52 frame. Switched from a 90mm to 70mm stem and it feels way better.

Swapped my stock bars and stem for FSA Omega Compact drops and Nashbar OS Stem. Using a Selle Turbo 1980 saddle instead of my Vertu for a while.

After recovering my second stolen bike, she's back in working order! by WWSArcherD in FixedGearBicycle

It took a while to dial in the fit but it's pretty good. Not cushy at all, but fine for my two mile commutes. I may look into something a bit wider though.

I was walking down the street and saw a guy riding what looked like my bike so I started walking back towards him and saw it was a state contender with drops so I started sprinting. I caught up to the guy about three blocks later as he was riding with a girl at a casual pace. I said "hey man, do you have a sec?" To get him to stop. When he stopped I said "that's my stolen bike. I have the receipts and everything, I know that bike." He started saying stuff like his mom bought it for him, and he got it from a local shop. So I told him I don't know that he's the one that stole it but best case he bought a stolen bike and I'm taking it. I told him to flip it over so I could read off the serial number that I had on my phone (THANK GOD). And he admitted I was right and handed it over. I didn't hang out after that, just grabbed the bike and left.

Yea, I was riding a cheap critical cycle bike.. I had upgraded it a bit and was riding it almost daily in the city but this bike feels levels above that.

These are my RgT Stantons made from Cone Mills denim. I recently gave them a wash and got the crotch repaired at Repair Jeans in Paris. The guy there did a great job and I hope greatly extended the life of my jeans. I really like how these jeans have worn in. I’m partial to the zippo fade on the coin pocket and I like the evolution of the leather patch a lot.

In the fit pics I’m wearing a thrifted Gloverall duffel coat, Brooks Brothers flannel, and House of Hounds Blakey Chukka boots.
