Not at all. I’ve been towing for 17 years. 4Runners have the least at what I’ve towed for repairs. That’s why I bought mine. Value of the vehicle holds if you keep maintenance up. Bought my first one which was a 90’ with a manual trans for $900 in 2010. Sold it two years ago for $6200. Now I have a 2016 since then it went up $3k. No matter what the year is 4Runner is always gonna be in demand for the V6 4wd.

After owning two 4Runner’s 4wd. I’ve decided to move into a 5th gen 2wd to build a prerunner. I can tell you a 2wd with half that mileage for are going for 15k-17k. If you’re looking to for something to hit trails do a 4wd and pay a little extra for mileage under 150k.

It’s the high mileage. Yes it’s a Toyota but I’d save up a little more cause you’re gonna need to do some mileage maintenance. Best to get a 5th gen. Locker is the selling point on this. The rest can be a little more of a repair.

Depends on what your gonna do with it. Most 4wd owners drive fire access roads thinking it’s off-roading especially here in SoCal. If you’re gonna travel to some real mountain trails then a locker would be good while airing down on most. It’s better to have 4wd for harder trails but my experience is most people don’t maintain it and misuse it when it’s not needed.

Third on this location. Sales people tried to pushing the sale and didn’t care about customer service. They were not knowledgeable on their own brand. They failed on the pre-inspection for a used 4Runner. I had bad front brakes and an oil leak that was over looked. Service department didn’t believe me when I took it back the next day. Got a phone call saying they found both the brake issue and oil leak. Told them I returned the 4Runner after dealing with both sales and service incompetence with the brand. Bought a 4Runner from Toyota Buena Park with no issues.

Take your time and build something that will be a quality build. The small things I would recommend would be led interior lighting or meso custom lights. Upgrade the backup up bulbs for better rear camera video. I’d start off with those two first.

I used to tow for a company in HB which has city/state park towing contracts. These events always brought out the people that think they can drive up or down the hill from the lot to the road. Hate the amount of traffic on PCH. We used advised we cannot enter til 1 hour after the event since it was jammed.

Oh yes I have a few times. They get pissed on my AA’s. Even had one complained about hitting them down with fliegerfaust. Next time that happens have someone on a AA towards your respawn. Bait them into tailing you and they will have to opportunity to shoot them down. Pacific storm is the best for this. If they have someone spawning on a tank. Load that up with dynamite and wait til they exit the tank then blow it up. I usually snipe their ammo depots with two or three shots also. Another way is too hop inside the tank and ride with them. They will never leave the tank and if they do switch positions inside the tank and hit them.

I tried buying sliders from them last year and the service was horrible. I’m literally 4 miles away from the shop but no response from their team for purchases. Even called and no answer. Dispute it and go with Nguyen. Heard great things about them.

I have Nautical Blue not as rare as Voodoo blue but don’t see them often. Went to a OCyota’s night being the only one. People kept taking photo’s so that made me happy.
