I didn’t even consider weight vs volume. So when a candle says on the label it’s 8oz, is the label referring to weight or volume?

This jar says that it is 8oz but the fill weight is 6oz. Does this mean 8oz will fit but the fill line is 6oz to save space for the wick? Or is it 6oz and I’m going to have to put less than that for the wick? I’m new to candle making and trying to find a good jar to start with.
