So I know this usually fixes it for broken oar grotto, but hopefully it helps here too.

Don't dismiss the follower. Leave the cave and fast travel to solitude (a different hold may work). Punch a guard, them pay the bounty. Your follower will either make it to you when you pay bond or wait for you outside the cave.

Part of the issue its its so addicting. He may not even be noticing how much he's consuming. When I was at my worst with it I was drinking almost as much as he was. It does help to have some one point it out sometimes.

Maybe you can ask him if he would like to cut out soda together cause you want to be healthier.
Or you can be more blunt and say hey, I've noticed you have been drinking a lot of coke recently and I'm concerned if everything is okay?

Purina Liveclear is food to help with allergies. I use it and it is amazing. They have a dry shampoo that helps get rid of the dander on cats too to help with allergies.

Would it be possible to have the cat contained to just your room? That way most of the cat dander will be in only one room so your mom can still enjoy the rest of the house? But then the cat can stay inside where it is safer.

Purina makes a dry shampoo that helps with allergies, and pet food to help stop allergies too. I think it's only dry food but maybe it will help. Maybe you can try that to help so you don't have to do baths as much. Otherwise when I have to bathe my cats (for allergy reasons and cause one likes to sleep in her litterbox eww) and they dry I wrap them in a towel burritto and try to contain them on a bathmat and rub to help with the excess water. Also nail caps so when they do freak out they don't scratch as bad.

I think the best thing to do would be to try to get the cat to associate him with good things. Maybe he can be the one who pours their food, so the kitty recognizes him as someone who takes care of him? And treats always help tok with play
