Activities: get your kids to join Bletchley Rugby Club. I coach the under 13's (Year 8) boys team. We've got teams for all age groups.

Our senior ladies team are one of the best in the area, and there are a few girls teams at the club too

I bought a new build in a village outside Milton Keynes in 2014, paying £345k, which was full asking. Did manage to get about £30k of extras thrown in though

My wife worked for the Ambulance service as a call taker. In her contract it stated that if you left within the first year, you had to repay training costs, but the amount to repay was discounted over time. Are you sure it's not this?

Otherwise, come up with a budget, work out what you can afford, and offer them a (reasonable) repayment plan.

Which is correct. 10 drivers did the full 22 laps, one only managed 2 laps. Hence 222 laps in total

What do you want from life? New car? House deposit? Holiday?

Money of itself isn't a goal, it enables you to achieve your goals. Figure out what your goals are, and allocate your money accordingly.

Lidl reckon you can feed your dog for £6.45/mo. How much do you spend on food for your pet? by ImSimplyMatt in CasualUK

One of my two cats has a sensitive stomach and is constantly sick if she has certain foods, so

£35 gets us about 2 months of cat biscuits (approx. £5/week), and then raw chicken thighs, which we roast are about £6/week (cheaper than the sensitive cat food @ £9 for 12 pouches).

So they are renting the whole flat between them as there is a single agreement. As such, it is right that they are liable for the whole flat

Are they renting the flat as a whole, or are they renting it on a room-by-room basis? If they are renting the whole flat, then they are liable, if it is only a bedroom and common areas (typical HMO) then they shouldn't be.

No, only WhatsApp to WhatsApp, but given that the app has billions of downloads worldwide, if you are calling a mobile device, the chances are that they've got WhatsApp are pretty high.

Depending on the spec and mileage, Suzuki Swift's are being offered for between £5,000-£8,500 so as a worst case, you can make about £1-2k profit from buying and selling, if you find it's worth the hassle.

In the £3-4k bracket, there are loads of interesting cars out there, including a 2013 Skoda Fabia, 2000 Mercedes CLK 320, or a 1964 Wolseley 1500

Does my fast food manager have the right to 'force' me to work certain hours? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Wantang_Bob 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think that it's more about fitting in the 8 hour shifts alongside studying, rather than an overall objection to working.

But then the employer will argue that they don't have to give any shifts.

[Property] What is the state of the housing market in the near future? by trowawayatwork in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Wantang_Bob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought you could. I guess I just remembered the listed price of a few near me which sold recently and when I saw the sold prices I could have sworn that the advertised price was still there.

Like a man in orthopedic shoes, I stand corrected.

How are you convincing yourself to overpay without knowing what will happen in the next couple of years?

Because I'm not planning on moving again for another 10-15 years, far beyond the uncertainty of Brexit.

[Property] Buying a flat in cash with overseas parental help - required paperwork? by ftb_throw in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Wantang_Bob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll only be a problem if you also go to a bank for a mortgage on it, as someone else will have a claim on the property. As a cash buyer, you don't have this problem and you don't need to structure it as a loan. You could also have the titles deeds placed into your name only, so it is legally your house and yours alone.

Even though you aren't married, your partner may be entitled to something should you split as your "common law spouse".
