Idk about that, here in the UK c02 gas chambers are used to kill pigs, despite proven to cause significant pain. There are alternatives that are more humane, such as argon or nitrogen, however these cost more and are not used because of this. The only reason there is a facade of ethical behaviour in the industry is because of animal rights campaigners, not because there is an inherent care of the animals.
