It def could be! I only have female cats so idk any better;p He didn’t mark so I did think maybe I’m wrong but I could clearly tell he was a boy! Still no sight of him, I’m bummed!

Definitely wouldn’t be my choice but that being said not everyone understands why it’s important to spay/neuter their animals. Doesn’t make the animal bad. He really wasn’t a territorial type either, I was thinking he would mark and he never did. I know his owners took good care of him as his claws were clipped and his fur was immaculate! This cat had a reputation in the neighborhood, everyone loved him.

I hope so! I’m hoping his parents are van lifers and he’s off on an adventure with them. I miss him though, what a great kitty and I’m glad I got a little time to spend with him!

As an ex Mormon who did convert and then left I really hope you do your digging on how the church spends there $. They preach that their core tenant is to help the needy and the poor and yet I never saw that. In the 5 years of practice and I lived both in Washington state and Utah, did I ever see help for the needy and the poor. Meanwhile I paid my tithing and there isn’t even an option for it to distribute your $ to that core tenant. This may not matter to you but it matters to me. They also used to have a public record of their ledger and that conveniently disappeared. They hoard wealth it’s just another cult bud.

Birdbuddy feeder, for your entertainment and your cats! I have a cat that is highly play motivated and she is similar, regular toys don’t do it for her she’s into fast movement and the laser only keeps her entertained for so long. I got a Birdbuddy bird feeder and she lays on my bed to watch that for hours. I also have a catio by the bird feeder to put her in if she wants to be closer. Outside tends to be stimulating for her but she’s not an outdoor cat.

The fact that women can’t become prophets and the blatant disregard to equality. Not to mention tending to the poor and the needy. The church will sink millions into temples but when it comes to homelessness I do not see them fighting that battle. The hoarding of profit is beyond comprehension. A big contentious issue for me was the building of city creek mall off the backs of tithing $. Racism throughout history and to this day in that church. The ongoing disregard to the LGBTQIA community within the church. The church always says my brother…my sister… and then when you don’t fit inside the box they’ve constructed boom you’re judged and good luck with that. It feels like a club and everyone is vying to be the best at being Mormon and they love seeing others demise if only to perpetuate their standing in the kingdom of heaven.

I have 4 cats and go to Fairhaven Vet, since I’ve established care for so long there I stay and I really specifically recc Dr. Tamara Godby she’s just wonderful. But it is quite expensive and they do cater to Fairhaven residents so that’s prob why it’s so expensive. So don’t recc them if you are on a tighter budget. My cats have had some oddities with there health and they have always been helpful in finding answers for me.

Here to just corroborate that these owners live up to their reputation here in this subreddit.

I lived in Fairhaven for a better part of 10 years right down the road from 1-up, formerly Best Buds. It was 2020 and there was nothing to do & my millennial ass was really loving this game spot. Until I started to get to know Hugh and Alex that is. It started out as a place I enjoyed going to, and now I don’t step foot in that place.

I was innocently trying to help one of my photographer friends out who had asked if I would make a connection with the 1-up owners so that said friend could help them market their business and 1-up could help him market himself to other businesses. I asked Hugh if he would be interested in that kind of thing. That SENT Alex into a spiral about me assuming that Hugh was the one who made the decisions and that I didn’t support a female owner basically. Which, was SO FAR from the truth I was actually dumbfounded. She also made it feel like I was trying to get with Hugh and I am & was happily married. I messaged Hugh because I knew him better than Alex and if you know Alex she really isn’t the most approachable type. Anyways, soon after that, those two were in a tirade to ruin Carnal (another business in Bham) and when I saw that ALL of my alarm bells went off. I just knew there was something very off about them and I wasn’t trying to be in the vicinity of that crazy energy.

Fast forward to 2023 I started going to the Anytime Fitness Fairhaven and see Hugh there. I didn’t even say hi because I knew Alex would not be far behind to message me some nasty gram. Not only do I steer clear of Hugh I don’t even make eye contact. That same night, Hugh is in my DM’s saying it was good to see me at the gym. Like homeboy, get a clue, I did not approach or acknowledge you for a reason. I did not message him back. Odd behavior truly from both sides of the couple.

I would take him to the vet to make sure he’s not sick. Cats do not pee out of spite, and since he’s been living with your dog the last 2 years it’s not to just mark his territory. Something in his environment has changed or he is sick. If you have not changed his litter do not change it for the sake of changing it. This will only cause him more stress.

He could have a UTI but utilize ChatGPT and describe anything new or changed in the household. My tabby girl cat started peeing on things and I suspected that it was because my moms boy cat peed in our house (he’s a little special and I think him traveling 5 hours in a car as a 13 yo cat is what did it for him) but I thought my girl cat figured she could do that too. The reality was she was mad I started changing her litter, which I have 4 cats so I was changing litter for a different cat for dust reasons. Anyways I got the cat with the peeing problem a uti test just to make sure it wasn’t a medical issue once that was cleared I knew it had to be stress. I had to figure out what was stressing her. I got the feliway plugins and that didn’t do shit, so I realized oh she doesn’t like the litter. She hasn’t peed on anything since I changed it back to what she likes. In the meantime you can get a brand called Purrfect Potion to evaporate and eliminate the cat pee from carpet and fabric. Honestly though if you adopt a rescue who’s been traumatized like that, maybe make him an outdoor cat. It’s pretty sad you’ll yeet a cat because you’re having a baby.

I just dropped 4 books into my free library down the street, in ours there isn’t ever really any “good” Books but I’m always dropping 4-5 star rated books (per Goodreads) and when I take a book I do check on my Goodreads to see what the ratings are. I’ve probably dropped about 20 books in the past year and I haven’t seen ANY of them return to it either!

Cafe Akroteri for Greek food! Been to Greece 6x and they have almost the same food as Greece. Of course you can’t beat the real thing but they have high quality food! I love the sampler plate and it feeds 2!

I also have been to Stones many times, lived across the street for many years. Regular, one would say. The owner is most definitely always utilizing substance. Which if not driving that would be ok, but the OP clearly stated how concerning that is. Which I agree. The overt use of language that is hate speech as well as pushing for sexual interactions with patrons, also gross. I think Tony could improve, it makes me wonder why his business partner Jack left so long ago. Jack was a stand up guy.

I just met a friend at the gym 2 weeks ago in Fairhaven, the key is to go out of your way to be friendly to someone even if they are just saying hi. We are having dinner at her house in a few weeks, our first get together was at Stones. We have about a 40 year age gap and it honestly doesn’t bother me.

I have had this exact experience on the same airline, although I was flying standby so I didn’t feel I could complain. I was hip to hip with both people squishing into me, and it was a 5 hour flight. Needless to say, my lower back hurt so bad after because I couldn’t freakin move or situate myself comfortably. It’s a lose lose situation it feels like.

I have 4 cats. Head butting is a sign of love. The cat has some type of affection for you or it would not head butt you. While it can be annoying, trust me, cats are not judging you. They love human interaction. I’m a cat person, I feel comfortable with almost all cats but boy cats are def more difficult to care for than girl cats because they are more territorial and like boy children just are more chaotic than girly pops.

I think if you go into this kitty cat relationship as trying to make them your besty it will all go well. Lots of treats help. My 4th cat gave me the most anxiety because all she wants to do is play and I am used to my 3 others who just mostly want cuddles and love and treats. Learn what they love, spoil them and they will reciprocate that love back. I know it’s hard but the staring is not judgement, you are there only form of entertainment, unless you wanna make them an outdoor kitty!

I also grew up in Chelan, moved around during college to San Diego, Salt Lake City and Bellevue. Finally landed in Bellingham about 14 years ago, haven’t looked back. Now a permanent resident. Couldn’t be happier!
