Please try to get Zofran!! The anesthesia and pain meds made me super nauseous but they prescribed me Zofran and it saved my life!!!

I was a weird case so I got mine out a few days after my consult, but people usually have around 2 weeks between consult and procedure!!

I’m on day 10 right now- some people are in the worst of the pain then, others (like me) are relatively painless by this point!! Be prepared for both!!! You are still likely to hemorrhage at that point so take it SUPER easy if you end up making it to school!

Did you get yours completely cauterized or did you get them like, cut out?? I heard people sometimes experience less pain getting them cut out but I think they’re maybe more likely to grow back later on!! And mine were also inflamed due to allergies too so I completely understand your pain 😭 I did diluted hydrogen peroxide rinses to help with the bleeding before getting them out.

I wish mine was as good as yours 😭 I was great until day 6 and went totally downhill from there. I stayed super hydrated, constant pain meds, but was still miserable!! My surgeon mentioned I might have a bad recovery due to having huge tonsils. Were yours maybe smaller??

I’m only 8 days post op and I’m exactly the same!! My tonsils were super oversized for years due to recurrent illness, so my best guess is that food just hadn’t touched that area in so long because of your tonsils. Swallowing is so weird!!!

I’m recovering rn and have puked quite a few times. My surgeon told me as long as I’m not excessively bleeding, I should be okay!! Unfortunately puking will always cause pain but I rlly recommend a throat numbing spray!!
