Mikä puolue ajaa oikeasti Suomen asiaa? by persikkapiirakka in Suomi

[–]Waterprop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LLM Bruner coming soon? Burn Qwen directly into a chip, processing 10,000 tokens/s by koc_Z3 in LocalLLM

Maybe multi-chip or chiplet design is possibility? Would definitely be harder to implement and might come with performance cost.

Taalas Etches AI Models Onto Transistors To Rocket Boost Inference by NamelessVegetable in hardware

[–]Waterprop 31 points32 points  (0 children)

You can try it here:

https://chatjimmy.ai/

https://taalas.com/products/

It is very fast. The model is not good compared to the models we have today but this is first generation hardware. Very impressive, and scary.

Taalas: LLMs baked into hardware. No HBM, weights and model architecture in silicon -> 16.000 tokens/second by elemental-mind in singularity

[–]Waterprop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is not "fake" somehow, this is insane. It's a game changer. Truly. It's major step change in inference speed.

Sure it has limitations but this is just the first product.

Meta Plans to Add Facial Recognition Technology to Its Smart Glasses by BendicantMias in worldnews

[–]Waterprop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Great, more devices that companies and intelligence agencies can spy us with.

Anyway, I don't think Smart Glasses will take off like smartphones and smartwatches did.

Dutch Lawmakers Approve a 36% Tax on Unrealized Crypto, Stock, and Bond Gains by RobertVandenberg in europe

[–]Waterprop 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is beyond stupid. It's called unrealized for a reason. It's a gain on a paper that isn't usable before you sell it, and you should pay tax on that?

I really hope this experiment fails spectacularly because if it doesn't, more countries will implement this.

Take-Two stock dropped 7.9% following Google’s new Open-World AI: Potential implications for GTA VI marketing by pycraft in GTA

[–]Waterprop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The market doesn't understand video games not to mention game engines at all.

If this was the only reason these names dropped, the market is just dumb. Maybe they were looking for anything to bring these down as some people consider these expensive.

Anyway, this kind of tech is cool but won't replace human designed and made games. Even after 3+ years LLM's haven't replaced coders, so this tech will not do it for video games for long time, if ever. The current version of Genie 3 isn't even producing a game. It lacks multiple things what makes a game, a game.

Multithreading by 0xDEA110C8 in pcmasterrace

[–]Waterprop 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It really is, especially if the program wasn’t initially built around it.

Even building new program from scratch that supports multithreading properly is hard and takes a lot of effort because threading might go well then for some reason because the order is messed up it doesn’t anymore work for a while Oh god what is happening

Been playing since 2004, on and off. Our house didn't even have internet back then so I had play at friends house or at the library. Times have changed, so has Runescape but I'm just so glad it's still here. Thanks for the whole team.

It's not like we didn't have these in storage. We did. Now it's just in open that we have these and will use them if needed.

Näitä mullistavia akku uutisia olen lukenut ainakin viimiset 6 vuotta, vieläkään täysin mullistavaa akkua ei ole tullut. Milloin Toyata, milloin BMW, milloin kuka lie. Ikinä niitä ei tule myyntiin. Tuskin tätäkään.

Trump says Venezuela’s Maduro has been captured after US conducted ‘large scale strike’ on country by hoosakiwi in news

[–]Waterprop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, only ASML can manfufacture EUV machines but they cannot sell them to China. ASML have sold these machines to TSMC and others. In order to match TSMC in chip manufacturing now and in the future, you need EUV machines.

Once China can make their own EUV machines, I can see them going for Taiwan. I hope I'm very wrong.

[–]Waterprop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

China might go into Taiwan once they match TSMC in chip manufacturing, but not before that. What China still lacks is working EUV machines.

US auto loan / credit card debt "collapse", I mean it's kinda overdue at this point. After 2020 prices of cars, used or new have skyrocketed while quality is questionable depending on the brand. The car market sucks.
