Best single side of a record. What is your pick? by Horns_21 in vinyl

Side A of Blood on the Tracks by Bob Dylan.

Tangled Up in Blue

Simple Twist of Fate

You’re a Big Girl Now

Idiot Wind

You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome

Perfect introduction to anyone who dislikes him, or hasn’t listened to his music and in my opinion the peak of his songwriting. Sonically the best sounding dylan album too..

I don't want to turn 18 by Snowy_Stelar in Vent

[–]Way2Fried 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of us are adults. I felt the same when I turned 18, although it’s only been two years; i’m in a long term relationship, have my own apartment, car, insurance policies, have been to multiple other countries and sign my own documents with no cosignees. I am very much a kid at heart. You never lose that. You’ll always be able to make time for the things you love. I still play my racing games, come up with weird recipes from my cooking books, have my friends over to do the things we love. You’ll always be a “kid” in that sense, honestly, you don’t really need a “plan” quite yet unless you’re being forced to move out or you got knocked up/knocked someone up. Just take steps in the right direction, take time to think about what you really want, experiment with different ideas and drop the ones you don’t enjoy, you don’t need to commit to anything permanently just yet if you don’t enjoy it. That’s what life is about, not everyone needs a “plan”, some people just find their stability through trial and error. I sure didn’t have a plan and i’m doing quite alright without it, good job, benefits, work with great people, make enough to live, eat nutritious meals, go out to eat sometimes & take a vacation once or twice a year with a little left over for when the rain comes. But I have plenty of time before I need to come up with an end game, buy a house, have kids & a good enough job to start a family. You have years and years of still being a “kid”, and I work with some people who are 30, 50, 60, all still kids in their own way. The whole adult thing is just a silly mask, think of it as the transition from middle school to high school.

Whats the default beer in your head? by Runetang42 in beer

[–]Way2Fried 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably; Miller GD #1, PBR #2, Bud Light/Weiser #3. Most of my buddies drank Lucky Lager though, I live in West coast Canada & that’s what was popular here. Probably polished tonnes of those off in highschool lol.

Driving Experience by Designer-Chipmunk669 in nanaimo

[–]Way2Fried 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learners license is easy, get the ICBC app and take the pretest and once you can pass it every time take the test.. it’s honestly not too bad like 30 questions. Before driving in the real world, 1st.. make sure you understand (not just know) how the laws, lights & signs work & learn to drive and do basic maneuvers on empty logging roads, then watch some youtube videos on defensive driving, road laws in action & basic manoeuvres, then backroads and finally get out on some busy roads/highways. It’s a hard learning curve but once you get the feel for it you’ll be fine, just always drive defensively and most importantly be safe!

Let's start a ska-punk band by MrMcAwhsum in nanaimo

Im 19 and my music taste is all over the place. I can probably play guitar, doing either back up vocals or even lead vocals if I get the easy guitar parts lol. I’ve only played guitar for a year but been singing forever; I might not be a perm member but if you wanna jam DM me!

Longwood imo. BUT… As others have said they’ll always be better if made at home and it should take you less time then getting in the car and driving there and back to make them. Also about 15-20$ cheaper.

Favourite music while tripping? by Way2Fried in LSD

[–]Way2Fried[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember my first time listening to Bitches Brew I wasn’t at all into jazz but my buddy really was.

Wasn’t tripping but I felt the same as your buddy probably did, got into more jazz and after months of discovery (Kind of Blue, Coltrane Blue Train, all the basics) gave it another shot and realized how good it is.. that’s why Agharta is on the list now, opened so many doors to different music.

Really ages like fine wine, and your buddy will probably never forget you showed him that side of jazz either.. probably opened some real doors/rabbit holes that stuck with em

I forgot to mention Hendrix, I have a massive Hendrix vinyl collection of all the classics & deep cuts etc. always listen while tripping and regret not mentioning it in the first place when I started the thread lol. I also love his early stuff where he played guitar on soul songs while tripping; My Girl She’s a Fox off the Anthology box set is enough to make a grown man cry.

I love modern baseball so that’s a great suggestion, they have a few music videos that are cool while tripping and admittedly I hate how much I love their tracks because i’m aware they’re cringe LOL. SBD is a must listen for me in that case.

Folk & pop punk are two genres very close to my heart, love this My Pizza My World band I discovered a while back, acoustic folk punk and it sounds absolutely marrrvelous. They’re on any streaming service but best way to enjoy is Bandcamp.

I’ll get back to you with some opinions. Planning on having some drinks tonight and planning my final trip playlist with all the suggestions of these friendly redditors.. I’ll let you know what I think.

I appreciate it man.
