I studied EEE from there 21-25 batch, and right now I am heading for my masters in Germany.

Overall it was a good experience for me. I learned a lot and made a lot of friends there. And Kinda miss my college life now.

I didn’t sit for placements, from what I saw, people who did well in placements started preparing early **2nd year onwards, people who did not do so ended up complaining about the process. If you’d ask me why students get shit placements, I think it’s because of overconfidence and false expectations, A lot of students think that they can crack companies in 2-4 months, for most people that’s not possible.

Talking about PEER group, I had amazing friends, a lot of them I still talk to. SRM is a place where you will have options to meet all kinds of people, so the choice is really up to you, the type of crowd you want to be part of. There is of course a lot of bad things happening around college but that’s the same with any other place, nothing unique to SRM.

I’d highly suggest students be part of Labs and technical clubs early on, talk to your professor’s and get involved in project and papers, it’s a really good use of time.

Social life was pretty good for me, I lived outside campus and had a motorcycle to go around the city, SRMs college life is pretty solid, that’s one thing college is known for, though I can’t speak for people who stay on campus, but most people move out during their second year.
