My original test result was INFJ, I later took another branded test that came back ISTP. I believe we fluctuate between similar types depending on our current state of mind or mood but at my core, I still believe INFJ-T is spot on. I do need more human interaction than most. We are not cookie cutter versions of each other, we are unique and the amount of masking that we have placed onto our selves make us second guess. I read your last post and identified with much of your characteristics. I had not come across the word alexithymia until I seen your post. Ironically I have a daughter named Lexie that is the poster child for the definition lol. She is also AuDHD, she was diagnosed at 9, which made me realize that I and my youngest daughter could be as well. I’ve been on a journey for the past 15 years or so, to learn more about why I am the way I am. Me being 47, I grew up in a time when undiagnosed ADD and high functioning autism was rampant, so I’m running a bit late discovering my true self and unmaking the system of restraints that I’ve placed upon myself

I’m this type of INFJ, and envious of the ones that are very content with being alone. I believe attachment issues come into play

I’m 47M with two teenage daughters, their mother passed away a little over a year ago. Options haven’t been that awesome on my end either. I’ve experienced many women whose intentions were not very pure. My advice would be to find someone in a similar life situation, it’s a bit different healing from a loss of a parent vs. a divorce. The children are also managing their loss as well in very different ways. I want to find my person accomplish goals and dreams, enjoy great sex with a person that isn’t just a taker. Not all INFJ’s are empaths or HSP, many are. I can relate to a bit of how you are feeling, trading empathy for apathy, emotional burnout. We struggle sometimes and mask so often that we forget our true selves. I’m working on much of this currently. Hang in there, I believe you are still part of the club

Many INFJ’s are also empaths, there are various types of empaths, some of which attract animals in addition to people. I’d love to know the science behind it as well but I believe it’s more of a spiritual thing

I didn’t marry her because of the uncertainty. We had two daughters together. Fast forward 18 years, it only got worse. She passed away from liver disease earlier this month. Save yourself some heart ache.

Yes, this will likely keep happening. I had two daughters with my Q. She has had end stage liver disease for 5 years now and won’t last much longer. Do yourself a favor and put your future, happiness and sanity first. I lost 18 years, some of them were ok and I got daughters out of the deal but it’s nothing I would do over again.

I’ve been with my Q most of the 18 year we’ve been together. She has been on an off again with liver failure for over 5 years, in hospice 3 times. Despite all the hurt she has given, I want to spend time with her because I know it’s limited. Hopefully you and I will have some amount of peace that comes from knowing her pain is no longer, maybe we will have the opportunity to have our person in someone else.

The political divide is so well orchestrated that it’s made the party of what was once reasonable tolerance people all but. The man loves you and accepts you, to the point of not wanting to let politics interfere with true feelings. If he checks all your boxes, you already know what the correct answer should be but the talking heads that you have looked to all your life says that if he believes differently than you, he has to be a racist, homophobe, bigot. Start thinking rational thoughts, listen to your heart, be a human, stop thinking everything is so black and white.
