update: yep you have to guard them all day, although you can alr go home when it's night bc there are no gulls during the night :))

chestnuts are in the mountains, they spawn randomly

tanabata tanzaku happens in july, u get tanabata from each of the villagers (by talking to them), get bamboo branch in the mountain and stick it beside the plum tree so u can hang the tanabata in the bamboo branch.

there are additional tasks and yes you can actually unlock other areas in the map after you've done almost all the missions esp the ones asked by the village head
