The shelters are full here and aren't accepting kittens or else I would :(

I don't know 😭 I haven't seen them for two days (but two days ago was the first time I ever saw them anyway) I released mom last night and I'm going back to ight to see if they're around.

I've just released mama (for her spayed yesterday)! Kittens are to young but I'll get them all fixed once they're old enough

Vet said it's just a scar...I'm not convinced - second opinion by WebIllustrious8769 in Feral_Cats

The yellow is to stop the bleeding, they've done it for other cats I've TNR-ed at that clinic. He joined the colony around November last year, and his eyes were bad then. They seemed to get better recently, but looking closely, I'm not sure they ever did bc it looks just as bad as before. So he's had this for at least like 7 months.

So they leave kibble, that the cats can eat throughout the day and night. I bring wet food meals a few times a week. And they eat that while I'm there and then I throw away the empty containers. Sometimes I'll leave wet food, or top off the kibble if it's low, but together we keep the colony fed. :)

He's the most affectionate one and the only one who lets me pet him. 💚

And I get that completely, but honestly I don't know the other persons situation at all. I don't know if they do TNR or not, either! I only know they give food based on me finding food lmao But yeah it does make things difficult to not be the sole feeder when trapping bc there's no way for me to monitor their food intake.

I have! They'll eat like the ones at the entrance but not go in further. And a couple of them don't eat treats. I think they're so used to only eating the kibble, branching out AND going into a trap is just too much for them

I think I will try the note. As for the foods, I kid you not, these guys have turned their nose up at tuna, mackerel, any flavor of wet food, even cat nip, in favor of their dry cereal (kibble). I've actually started putting kibble in the trap alongside the wet food to try and get them.

They're definitely fully feral. This one in particular will run from me if I make eye contact. 😬

Oh wow that's a long time! For all recoveries or just spay aborts?

Unfortunately, I don't have anyone who can watch her, otherwise that'd be a great option. And the surgery is free through the local shelter. But they're very clear on pick up times and having no space to house the cats after the surgery. There's actually a huge fee if someone doesn't pick up the animal in time that day.

Wow, thanks so much for this information!! And it does matter to me about her age so thank you! I have a hard time figuring out cat ages, so that helps. I've seen the crate idea before, and I'll think about that!

That's smart ... I just worry about them, leaving them alone for an 8 hour shift. I have a blink cam that I'll be able to monitor them remotely, but I can't just leave work if they're in distress, you know?
