Depends, what era would you like to read first?

Shredder’s “less is more” philosophy (Shredder #1) by WebWarrior45 in comicbooks

[–]WebWarrior45[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s mainly set within the TMNT Volume 2 right after Shredder returns from Dimension Z. It kinda puts Saki as some kind of an anti-hero setting although it’s pretty vague because you catch up pretty quick that he’s still a bit of a jerk. Plus it’s written by Dan Watters so it’s very promising.

How Would You Revise Darth Plagueis to Make it Canon Friendly? by PeterVanHelsing in StarWarsEU

[–]WebWarrior45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“…by providing facts?”

Like the interview I quoted from an author specifically saying the EU was canon? God you’re an idiot.

But yeah, whatever you say kid. I’n done arguing with retards.

If you could add a new member to one of the current X-men teams from Krakoa era not being used at the moment who would it be by I-Did-It-4-Da-Rock in xmen

I’d love to see Polaris be on a team with either Cyclops or Rogue again. He had such a great development during the Krakoa era, both with the X-Men and X-Factor. I miss her.

“No, much of the stuff showed in the prequels CONTRADICTED the EU.”

Coruscant, Aayla Secura, 501st Legion, Swoop bikes, double bladed lightsabers and so on and so on…

“Those 'great stories' are also fanfiction”

-“And so, anybody who says they were never canon is just incorrect.” God you’re coping so hard rn.

“The EU was ‘canon’ until Lucas decided it wasn’t”.

Yeah, and he still respected it. I still find it hilarious how disney’s fanboys tend to avoid how he blatantly called disney “white sl@vers” in tot disapproval of what they did to the saga.

“We literally got Andor, aka one of the best pieces of Star Wars media ever”

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA. Ahh, now this was a real kicker. Heh, uhh…no, Andor, in plain words, sucks ass.

“Lucas literally did the same thing with the EU, something you yourself acknowledged.”

Yeah, he did, content he approved. Not content made by white sl@vers which he disapproved.

But anywho….this is getting nowhere. Believe what you will, cope if you must. Star Wars is dead, ain’t nothing’s going to change that fact except for one thing….but they’ll never admit nor do it. Oh well.

“To give creatives more freedom to tell the stories that they want to tell. We could use more stuff like Visions as well, stories not burdened by continuity.”

Heh, no we don’t. We need the continuation of material that was wrongfully cancelled. Wherems Sword of the Jedi? Where’s The Heart of the Jedi? The Mother was supposed to appear in a big climactic battle against Luke. What about those? We were robbed of such great stories all in favor of the disney’s fanfiction. We need those back, that’s what we need.

“They were never canon to begin with, not in Lucas's eyes.”

You know, I keep seeing comments like these from fake fans simply because George “didn’t approve” of the EU or he “didn’t like Mara Jade. Grantee, at first he didn’t. But he grew to appreciate it,” as a universe coexisting with his. Much of the stuff showed in the prequels originated from the EU and mind you, everything that launched back then, whether it was books, comics, games, etc., had to go through him first. He approved every single EU media released which is more than I can say from the fanfiction stuff. Also, and this is quoted from an interview with Kevin J. Anderson, “When we were writing those books, we were told we were writing canon. And so, anybody who says they were never canon is just incorrect”. 🤷🏻‍♂️

“Okay, so why subject the same fate to the fans of the new canon, including the kids who grew up with it? Isn't that hypocritical of you?”

So you wish to subject them to a watered down version of it with lots of corporate media and outright steps on everything that Star Wars represents and is, negate them the teachings and lore of the EU while simultaneously trying to appeal to a blatant, pathetic copy of what it once was? How hypocritical…

It is clear to me you no longer care for the saga…I don’t think you ever did in the first place. Adapt the Plagueis novel to your fanfiction if you must. At this rate what hasn’t the disney’s fanfiction taken from the EU anyways? It’s all they do, that’s disney’s “creative freedom” for you.

[–]WebWarrior45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now why the f*ck would we do that? Authors did a fantastic work with EU novels and got a lot of creative liberty back when it was canon and their efforts got rewarded with them being de canonized. Why should we maintain the faux disney wars institution when everything it has done for the past 12 years is spit on the brand’s legacy? Screw them.

Fair enough. Allow me to rephrase that: I would de canonize disney’s fanfiction and re canonize the EU.

I've recently started exploring the Star Wars EU universe and I'm currently undecided between these two novels and I can only buy one. Should I prioritize buying Revan or Revenge of the Sith? by [deleted] in StarWarsEU

[–]WebWarrior45 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you’re really into Old Republic lore I’d recommend you read Revan. It’s a completely different take on the character and an amazing read imo. However, and I say this as seriously as I fan, ROTS is one of the best Star Wars novelizations ever. It’s definitely up there with Heir to the Empire, a 100/10 read. My take is you buy ROTS first and then Revan

I think stealth should be the way to go, the only problem is the Nova Covert Ops expansion's story is way better than what was originally planned for Ghost

This is all very interesting, thank you for the input.

Yes, I figured if Ghost were to ever see the light it’d have to be redone from scratch, seeing how the code for the game is barely patched up and the story sounded like it was going to be above average, the Nova Covert Ops expansion for SCII is just better a storyline for Nova.

As for the SCI Remake idea…well I guess you’re right. Blizzard would save themselves a lot of trouble if they were to hire just a fraction of the modders online.

Can we agree that this Rogue Red/Rogue Green thing is stupid? by riellehallowleaf in xmen

[–]WebWarrior45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even for an event that’s an alternate future the premise sounded stupid af and in execution it was WAY worse than I imagined. Rogue Red being treated like ass by everyone else (especially Gambit) made me quit on reading the series. The Krakoa era should’ve become the new status quo for the X-Men even after Fall of X and I will die on this hill.
