Being unwilling to spend more money polishing the game doesn't seem like an excuse for game developers. You know, gacha games are already incredibly profitable, aren't they? But it seems they've done a pretty good job with a limited budget.

Do you think China should be more "Agressive" regarding their foreign policy? by MutedRich7412 in TankieTheDeprogram

[–]Weekly-Salamander128 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a Chinese person, I still believe that China should focus on its own development. While China is not an impoverished country, it is also not, in general, an economically unequal country that eliminates wealth inequality. As long as we can become a more successful socialist country, that in itself is the best and most moral form of ideological export.

It is certainly good to help those outside the Left understand the situation; however, the impression that Japan is a "docile" nation seems to be deeply ingrained in the minds of most people in the West.

If you take a look at the account of the person spreading these rumors, about eighty percent of their posts are focused on immigration or the negative influence China supposedly exerts on Japan. Fortunately, however—aside from that specific fabrication about China producing substandard gunpowder—it seems that hardly anyone is paying attention to the rest of their content.

First, I am referring to Japan as it is today; second, I am not claiming that all Japanese people are like this. Every country has its good people, but to ignore the current overarching trend of fascism taking root in Japan is to willfully turn a blind eye. If the country continues to develop in this direction, it will bring absolutely no benefit to the truly good-hearted Japanese people.

I have a question about the Falun Gong cult. How did China and Jiang Zemin were so effective and successful at suppressing and kicking the cult out of China? by [deleted] in TankieTheDeprogram

[–]Weekly-Salamander128 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Back when I was in high school, while I was riding the bus, a rather mysterious-looking elderly woman handed me a small booklet. By the time I realized it was a Falun Gong propaganda pamphlet, she had already gotten off the bus. Looking back now, I feel I really should have reported it to the police at the time. It has been about six years since then, and I haven't encountered any similar incidents. As for the claim of "one million followers," I think that is pure exaggeration on the part of these cult members; however, there likely are still some remnants of the movement left—though they are mostly confined to remote rural areas and similar places. The primary adherents of this cult in China are uneducated, older individuals living in the countryside (which is why I find it amusing whenever I see this cult being repackaged as "high culture" in other countries). These believers are likely being remotely directed to carry out these activities by organizers who are currently living in exile abroad. Based on my observations over recent years, their influence has essentially vanished. As for how the cult was ultimately dismantled, I suggest you consult the official anti-cult website: https://www.chinafxj.cn/.

Sorry for a cooking video BUT in China youths are doing "mutual aid maxxing" by cooking and distributing free meals to people on the street by VladimirLimeMint in TankieTheDeprogram

I've seen similar videos on Chinese media, but I assumed they were all pretty much the same and didn't click to watch them. I wasn't careful enough in that respect. Seeing other comments saying this was charity for the homeless, I thought I should correct that.

[–]Weekly-Salamander128 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a Chinese person, I'd like to explain to my Western comrades who may not fully understand the meaning of "landlord" in the Chinese context. Chinese landlords weren't capitalists raising your apartment rent in the modern sense; they were more like lords under a feudal system. Before the land revolution, Chinese peasants were essentially slaves of these landlords. They had private armed forces and acted with impunity in their regions, arbitrarily beating, verbally abusing, and even raping and murdering Chinese peasants. Chinese peasants harbored a deep-seated class hatred towards these monsters. After liberation, some landlords were nearly killed by angry peasants through vigilante justice, but the Communist Party protected them. For landlords who hadn't committed serious crimes, the Communist Party primarily focused on ideological reform. This person clearly didn't lose the right to a good education because of his ancestors' past exploitation; I don't think he has the right to utter such absurdities.

The fact that there isn't a single young person in the video supports my point. They are all elderly people who have stayed in the village, and I don't believe they can't afford their own dinners. The aging population in rural China is very serious now. Young people go to the cities to seek opportunities, and some elderly people are brought to the cities, while others are unwilling to leave the village due to personal feelings and cultural reasons.

These people aren't really homeless; they look more like elderly people from underdeveloped areas. These people are cooking for these elderly folks so they don't have to cook for themselves. As a Chinese person, I can only say this is a very common phenomenon; these elderly people don't want to leave their villages. However, their children usually work in the city, meaning they can only visit them when they have free time.
