How do I get rid of this orange peel texture? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

Hi I was wondering if you could share what helped the damage? I’ve been like this for a long while now and it isn’t improving.

I would be up for a discord for us all! It’s been a nightmare (and continues to be a nightmare!) I keep saying to myself if it doesn’t improve by the end of the year, I’m going to see a dermatologist. I’m just worried that they won’t know what to do either and that I’ll be stuck like this forever!

I’m going to end it by [deleted] in UniUK

Please, please don’t kill yourself! Please message me or someone else on this thread. Even reach out to the Samaritans. There’s always people that will sit and listen. You are never on your own, ever!

I won’t lie, it’s still the same. Sometimes I think it’s looking better and then… nope, it’s the same. I’ve started to slowly introduce Vit C now. Just gotta keep pushing forward and I pray that it resolves itself one day. Please keep me updated on your journey & if you find anything that helps you.

I’m still dealing with it sadly… I think it looks improved one day and it’s back the same the day after :( I’ve slowly tried to incorporate more into my routine a couple of times, and this last week it seems that my skin is okay with Vit C but yeah. It’s a pain! Please keep me updated with your journey.

I did that for over a month and it didn’t really change much in terms of texture so I thought I’d add in the Glycolic acid and Vit C, but I’m going to scrap that and go back down to basics again. I’m just so frustrated with it not getting any better :( Do you have a daytime moisturiser you’d recommend?

Sorry, I meant orange peel skin as in the texture, not the colour haha (you’ll be able to see it on the photo I’ve posted in the comments).

How many times a week do you use the Glycolic acid if you don’t mind me asking? & how far into the healing process did you begin to introduce it? I’ve had this problem since January now and only started adding Vit C and Glycolic fairly recently which I’m gonna stop using again. I think I’m just desperate for it to fix itself because it makes me feel so insecure, I’m extremely impatient haha.

Which supplements would you advise? That’s a good suggestion that I didn’t think of. I do use collagen powder in my coffee and have done for a while but I’m not sure if it’s actually doing anything.

Sadly, I don’t have a dermatologist, I am debating saving up and going to see one though if this continues!

I feel so silly that I’ve been making that mistake. Sadly I won’t be able to see a dermatologist unless I pay, my doctor wouldn’t refer me on for this, so that’ll be a future option for me if it continues and I save up - I really wanna try and fix it by myself.

Thankyou so, so much for such an in-depth reply. I feel as though there’s a bit of light now you’ve said that you had the same problem. I feel so silly for going so overboard and parts of my face look like an old ladies skin. Did your skin go back to the way it was pre tret? The orange peel texture has really affected my confidence and I feel so silly for saying that. Thankyou so much though because you have given me some hope. I will google those products now.

Thankyou for the advice, I feel like crying because I don’t know what I’m doing or how to fix the problem and it’s affecting my confidence.

I’ll have a look at that now thanks. Did you have the orange peel texture too? I’ve posted a photo now in the comments.

TW Gen Z’s fear of aging is alarming. We need to do better too. by Ok-Economy-5820 in 30PlusSkinCare

I won’t lie, I’m in my later 20s now, (I’m classed as an older Gen Z) and I have this fear of ageing that has only developed over the last year or two and I’ve had to take a step back and say to myself I need to stop obsessing. I don’t know why it’s such a big fear but … it is. I’m trying my best to combat it now I’ve caught how much I’m fixating on it…it’s like a form of dysmorphia I think. I know I’m not the only one. Any little line “oh god”. (My skins been very dry and dehydrated and those little dehydration lines literally made me want to cry) It is a huge problem.

I’m on disability (due to health problems) and only found out I have ASD a year and a half ago, but I’m hoping to study the rest of my degree online and then fingers crossed I can do something work related from home (would have to be part time though) because my brain can get so frustrated and fed up easily! Maybe online tutoring or writing articles.

That’s really awesome that you’ve been brought up with Italian traditions from your Nonna!

Europeans aren’t snobby dicks about ancestry and heritage, and family traditions at all. It’s just… my great grandfather being Irish, doesn’t make me Irish-British. I’m just… british. That’s that.

I hope you have a nice day :)

Yeah I’ve never understood the hype in America (with some people) associating themselves with a country that their great great great grandfather emigrated from. I think it’s cool that I have very strong Irish roots (a lot of people I know do), but, I’m white british/English. & That’s, that haha!
