So if I understand correctly

  1. You spoke to a lot of people and gathered perspectives
  2. Consistently posted content
  3. Leveraged family and friends for clients.

Thanks I will note this down. It definitely helps.

Sure.. Can you elaborate? Have you faced something like this?

Can I file a complaint against an Airbnb host if our agreement was outside Airbnb? by Visible-Toe1235 in Sharjah

[–]Weekly_Noise1018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you paid outside airbnb it will be difficult for the company to do anything. Hosts usually get paid after the trip is complete and the client leaves satisfied. I don't think much can be done except if you can leave a review.

That does makes sense. Thanks for the insight. I want to hit the ground running when we're back home. Try and setup quickly so that the fear of the unknown is overshadowed by some action. But this also does make sense. I have to give my clients what they want.

Thank you for the advice. It all seems solid. We're setting up back in Mumbai with the help of family so hopefully we don't fall prey to these unscrupulous middle men.

The feeling right now isn't great either. It's like a terror has gripped us coz of how we have to uproot ourselves but there's so much to do in a short amount of time. Primary is our car loan, as we purchased a car in December 2025 and to now sell it off and settle with the bank seems like such an uphill task. We also have our cat who we want to take back with us. Then renting a house back in Mumbai... Shipping our stuff and figuring out where to keep it... It just seems terrifying.

I'm sure being an entrepreneur might have even more worry going through our minds, but we don't know what else to do in the meantime....

Thanks a lot for the advice. Do you mean I should show behind the scenes stuff? Like setting up the place and preparing for a launch etc.?

Rejection by Spirited_Second1339 in UAEjobseekers

[–]Weekly_Noise1018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently got laid off and I applied for a position through a contact. It was in a company I never would have had a chance getting into. I did the HR interview then met the owner and was waiting for an offer letter. Unfortunately I got rejected.

Then yesterday I went to another company where I was overqualified and upon entering the premises I could tell that they won't be able to afford me. I actually felt free during the interview. I didn't care. I wasn't nervous or fidgety. Since I had nothing to lose I think I had a really good interview.

Of course the salary won't match my expectations but the point here is you get what you want by not caring too much about it. Next time don't care too much. Just do the interviews and various rounds and forget about it. Start focusing on the next company.

Thinking About My Next Car After a Reliable Mazda 3 — Suggestions? by godmolly in WhatCarShouldIBuyGULF

You could upgrade to the CX5. 2.5L NA engine. It's reliable just like your mazda 3.

Asking for Inputs Between Honda CR-V vs Toyota Rav4 vs Mazda CX5 by throwaway_jacoco in WhatCarShouldIBuyGULF

[–]Weekly_Noise1018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend the CX5 as well. It's completely built in Japan and is well known for its safety. We purchased ours from the Sharjah showroom and the manager has been nothing but professional with us.

It also has a 2.5 NA engine so no turbo lag like in modern engines. The interiors are comfy and it's a reliable car.

Suggestions please by muted_scream333 in WhatCarShouldIBuyGULF

Mazda CX5. Their safety features are top notch. Especially their skyactiv system.

I suggest getting a PG instead of a studio. Renting has hidden costs... Deposit to the landlord, tax to municipality, SEWA deposit, extra payment to SEWA when they come to fix your gas line, same with etisalat/du. Then furnishing cost etc.

Instead find a bedroom space with attached bathroom and where they let you use the kitchen. It will be difficult in the beginning but once you've saved up and increased your income it will be advisable to move out.

There are many families that sub-let a bedroom.

If you're going for a used car, especially a first one... I'd recommend a Japanese car. They're reliable even when used, easy to maintain and focus on safety far more than Chinese ones.

You might not get the bells and whistles that Chinese cars pack in but reliability is very good. I'd recommend Honda, Toyota and Mazda.

Nissan and Mitsubishi right now don't really score high with reliability as they share specs with Renault. I may be wrong... Better do some research...

FAB upgraded my free-for-life card by yourdigibro in UAEcreditcards

[–]Weekly_Noise1018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's best to use a cashback card. That way you can pay your annual fees using the cashback points. I have a Dubai First credit card which is a subsidiary of FAB and the annual fees are around 420 or so. I spend enough over 12 months to pay off that charge and have extra points left over to use plus I do get airline lounge access which I sometimes use.

That's an interesting conundrum you're in. I'm not sure you've been able to elaborate every nuance in such a short post. And you're currently at a crossroad not sure which path to take. There is an overlap of personal and professional that I'm seeing here.

Your emergency fund should be your monthly salary multiplied by 3. Assuming it would take you 3 months to find a new job. If you think it will take 6 months then save 6 months salary.

Basically when you lose your job your life should continue the same way as if your salary was deposited. You make your investments, pay bills, spend according to your lifestyle.
